i didn't really want to start a new thread, since JF is brought up in other threads, but i haven't seen this addressed...

JackFlash (2.x) isn't compatible with OS5, but yet the OS5 beta (3.0) doesn't have a trial available. I've never used JackFlash, so how can I see if it is something I want if I can't try it first?

Brayder did mention that they were going to come out with the demo version of the 3.0beta on Monday (JackFlash Lite). I don't see any reference to it on their site. Perhaps you should email them your question. They are very prompt with their responses.

Trust me, the demo is not really anything that will help make up your mind on whether or not you want this. The demo limits you to using 64K of Flash (at least earlier demos had this limit). Basically all you're testing is that yes, you can move something to Flash, and you can see how easy it is. But if you decide that you would like an extra 4.5M of space for $20 or whatever JF is selling for, I wouldn't wait for the demo. Take the word of anyone who has used it; this app is extremely easy to use. The only problems with the new version have been very minor; some apps just have errors when run out of flash, but it doesn't cause any problems. You just move them back to RAM if it doesn't work, then you're all set. And two of the apps that had problems (Acid Image and Wordsmith) now have new betas available that solve the problem.

So basically, if you feel the extra space is worth the money that it costs, then go for it and don't wait for the demo. You won't regret it.
