Does anybody know if Sony can update the IR remote control software?  Its fine that Sony gave a vcr/tv/amp/dvd.  But I think Many people would rather have a cablebox controller than a AMP.  I was hoping that I was going to be able to control my setup, but without the cablebox, its kinda usless.

Hasn't changed since Clie RMC first came about. Notice that there are no Zenith devices? They are not going to put alot into it. They still want to sell their super-duper learning remotes.

there is a yahoo group called RMC Enhancer that has codes for new devices among other things. Search and you will find some more info about it or go to the yahoo group.

Just get Omniremote. It doesn't look as nice as the Sony app, but it has a learning mode and there is a lot of stuff that can be customized.

I tried Omni but couldn't get it to work. I talked to the company and they said they didn't have a NZ90 to test the software yet. I offered to test it for them, but no reply. ;)

Sony only wants you to buy it's stuff, they don't make cable boxes that I know of. Sony is getting to be more like Microsoft every day.

That maybe true, but they did include other brands. If that was the case, sony should've added TIVO support as my TIVO is a Sony brand. :)

I've seen a few remote-controller programs out there besides the stock one that comes with the NZ. Unfortunately, as stated above... they don't seem to be compatible, right now, with OS5 devices. :(

Would be nice to be able to have one... that does the cable boxes and other items. I don't know that I would want to pay more than $9.99 for any remote-control software out there.... it only aids in convenience ... not a necessity for me.
