View Full Version : NX Digitizer (touch screen) DEAD Please help

About 1 year ago my nx touch screen stoped working, i could not calibrate the digitizer. One week ago i pluged in my NX for one more time and it worked perfect. Yesturday though the touch screen stoped working again and it will not respond on the pen or even my finger. Is there something i can do? How come it worked suddenly after one year of not beeing used? anyone had this problem.
Thank you in advance.
PS. I live in greece and there is no authorised Sony service center in this country and since i have bought my NX from the US Sony Europe will not fix it for me, I have tryed everything from soft to hard reset to drain the battery. Please help.

It's hard to say what's wrong with it. Since it's unuseable as it is, you may want to purchase another NX and try replacing the screen . . . it's tiny work, but some people have been successful. My only other suggestion would be getting another PDA. :(

happened to me too and I'm now using new Tungsten T5 -- not as happy with it as I was with my NX80 but didn't see other option besides investing in expensive repair of 2 year old, discontinued clie.

Repair it ok? But were? I will have to send it to the US for that. Sony Europe will not help me. I also have a UX50 that i use but i like my NX

Have you tried removing the screen protector?

I don't know why Sony Europe would not fix it, since Sony centers are supposed to take in whatever jobs they have and send it for you if they cannot repair it. What did they say?

They said that since its a US model (from the serial Number) they can not fix it because the NX from the US to Europe are different. I see no visual difference in the 2 models (US and EU) although they might have some differences at the processor, but not on something simple as the touch screen.
God help me i guess... :)

The one I know of is that Europe's NX73 has bluetooth but the US NX73 doesn't. (or something like that) I think if you feign a serious look and speak with their manager or something, it might help.
