I recently found a T-mobile Sim card, but when I plced it into my GMS phone it said that the card is not activated.
-Could I activate it and use it as my second Sim Card/ number?
-I also saw key-chain devices that act as backups. Could I transfer all my data from my original simcard onto the new one, and use it in case m original is lost?

I'm not an expert, but I think to activate it you need to do it through T-mobile. If it's showing as inactive, it means the network has not recongized it, and it needs to be activated by someone at the store. I don't think they just activate new sim cards unless you're getting a new plan and need a new sim card to get on a new network (ala Cingular and their ATT customer migration).
My v551 lets me store phone numbers and stuff on my sim card, so if I ever place it in a new phone, then it will have all my contacts, on top of all my account info. Who knows though, I'm now a Cingular customer.

I also store my contacts on both Sim Card and the phone, but in case if I lose the phone or it is stolen., would I be able to get some other unlocked GSM phone, and use the second simcard with all the #'s on it?
