Hi
Does anyone know of an ap that will hard reset my Tungsten E? the power button is shot, I use the other buttons to turn it on and InstantOff to turn it off, but I need to do a hard reset and the power button just doesn't want to work.
I've looked on freewarepalm, but am not really sure what i'm looking for.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
thanks

You can let the battery die all the way. Just use a utility to disable the screen auto-off and leave it on overnight. AOCtrl is a DA that will do that.

MyTungsten E froze while I was reviewing games installed from swiftware. Iwas then given the option to erase all data, and since doing so, I am unable to use any of the basic functions. HELP!!!

Step by step details of what you did to get the option to erase all data would be helpful. If nothing works, then try a no-notify reset (see the reset primer on my website) and try to uninstall the games. It that doesn't work, then a hard reset is probably the next step.

does nobody know of an ap that can hard reset? I'm anything quicker than having to wait till the battery runs down.

Draining your battery should take but 10 to 12 hours, which might be a lot faster....

sorry if this sound stupid but how so? if draining the battery takes 10-12 hours and a hard reset takes seconds, then hotsync to restore, how can waiing for the battery to drain be a lot faster?

Maybe he was saying that you've been asking this question for almost 24 hours. In that time, you could easily have drained the battery and been done with the process.

Thanks Tanker_Bob, that's what I was saying.
I would have responded faster, but for some reason the forum isn't sending me email notifications on my subscribed threads..... and I haven't changed anything on my end......
p.s. I would add that I'm not aware of any such application and I imagine that if anyone who has read your posting knew, they would have said so.

Thanks, but I fail to see why the sarcasm was needed, I was only asking a question. I didn't assume that after 24 hours I should give up.

Actually I was trying to get you going as quickly as possible.

In which case I apologise, the comments given seemed very much like sarcasm, the way I read them. Sorry.
