I'm putting you audiophiles to the test. I dragged my coveted Pioneer cassette deck out the other day and hooked it up to my Kenwood receiver. Power came on but no tape movement. I took it apart last night to find the belts had crapped out. Now I'm looking for a place to get a replacement set. Searched a little last night with mixed results, and will continue, but any help would be appreciated.

I was surpised to find a robust market for late '70's early '80's vinage stereo components. I was practically drooling over a rebuilt CT F1250 deck. Top of the line from Pioneer at the time.

I had more success with my POS Sony CD player, also in storage for some time. When I put it away, I was having problems with the CD tray not locking in the machine. When I fired it up the other day, it would not load at all. After taking everything apart, front off, removing the tray mechanism and the tray itself, the culprit was a spring that kept the arm that locks the CD in place in the up position when the tray retracts in to the unit, being too tight for the mechanism to close. I stretched the spring ever so slightly and it was up and working.

This seemed to be a design flaw as within in a short time of purchasing it the problem started thought after a second retraction the CD usually got set.

Found a set on eBay, and they're on their way to me. Can wait to get this baby fired up. Really thinking about picking up the CT F1250 if I can get some extra cash.

Well, I got the new belts and got it working. Took about an 2 hours to slowly disassemble the unit (no manual) amongst the sea of wires, 5 minutes to get the belts on and half an hour to get it back togther. The auto reverse bar balked at first, but was albe to get it working.

I have a Pioneer Ct F750 and the belts but do not have info about where belts should be placed. I have disassembled unit but original belts were gone

Since you replaced belts on your unit, could you give me some insight as to where the belts go inside the unit

Any and all help appreciated Thanks
