After reading all the post about NZ, and its issues, i've decided (read thinking real hard!) to get one! I've handled a demo unit at a sony store a couple of weeks back and it fits perfectly in my large hands.
Maybe this is not a big deal to everybody but I absolutely love how especially the position of the jog dial fits (aligned) perfectly with my thumb when i hold it. I always feel that with my T665 the jog dial is too recessed and too low for comfortable operation - i dropped it once because of this!. Had no problem with my S300.
The features and cool factor made it just too irresistable! But i do realised and prepare to accept the fact that it's not meant to be a dedicated camera etc. PDA first, everything else second.
OK now that I've made myself feel good (i said good not justified :D ) on the idea of spending over $700 for a PDA, is there any reason not to get one today ie when's the next line of Clies coming out?
You see, my first clie was the S300 - still working beautifully -bought it way back in Dec 00! I upgraded to my current T665 6 months ago. I know new technology come and go fast! but i would like to 'think' that i'll be able to use the NZ the next 3-4 months without some new NZX whatever coming out say June!, especially if it comes with a better battery life! You know, buyer's remorse ;)
Anybody have any idea when's the next line coming out?
Thanks for reading and appreciate any input folks........

According to an email I received from Sony regarding a new NZ, there are no plans to upgrade or come out with a newer NZ in the near future. I have heard there are a couple of new NX models coming out this summer/fall ( there are some postings already regarding this). I kept debating should I wait or just do it, decided to just do it since I could wait forever and every few months they would come out with something new. Since that is the name of the game anyway, why wait, right??

Personally I ended up getting the NZ a couple of weeks ago and haven't looked back since. The more I use it the more I like it. There is some talk about them coming out with a new battery however. I have had no problems although I have noticed that my battery usage runs around 5-6 hours when fully charged, according to the battery information screen. I don't know if that is good or bad or just average. I would hope for more but gaming does run it down faster.

Anyway that's my two cents and I sticking to it!

Today is 03/3/03 0657
I have decited to goto CircutCity and return my HandSpring Trio 90 and get the NZ90.....hehe, a big price jump but i want all the options and future hardware/software upgradeability and/or enhancments.

I see all the Pros & Cons about the NZ90 and think ill do it. Ill get it in hopes I get one with a good screen and I WONT turn mine on till after i take mine home and charge it for 4 hours to max the Batt. I dont want to take a chance in possably getting a NZ with some of the stated batt problems.

If i still end up with a problem such as i see here I will possable excange up to 2 more times just to see if i can get a good one.
Sad really but fact is quality assurance slips-up in all organizations at times and be this a manufactuer problem or a last min. thing that the SONY QA team let slip by cuz of the pressure of time quota and expenditure loss on research, who knows ansd i bet they wont tell us if it was. ^__^

Fact: I do see the NZ90 on this forum in a good light still, though some have problems, there evedently are those that are very pleased and i am preying to be one of those for the $799.00 I will be dishing out on one.

There, thats what i think....wish me luck
I need somthing like this for my Educationl needs really but the power of multimedia options is a great bonus in the NZ90, ont the Trio 90 just doesnt have.
I am now a year out of the Marine Corp, dissabled but now can work, and have taken and passed Florida State CNA testing and am now certified, and am now working as a CNA looking onto having my job pay for 100% of my tuition to become a PA and finally in my life make more than 23k a year.........big step for me=-P
This PDA would help me considerably by giveing me a learning curve.

As i posted on another String on this forum im up this morning and havent left yet, still kinda early but im awake and want a new toy:D Im looking for feedback and you guys are just where im at at, im gonna do it, im gonna get out of bed and off my PC and go get it!!!!!!! YA!!!!......
~hmmmm, gotta calm myself down first LOL!~:p

Yeah ... I too was tempted by the OQO ... but unformtunately, it really does seem little more than a concept ... alot of talking but nothing to show ...

It was a choice between the NZ-90 and the Samsung widescreen PPC (bit bigger than a PPC actually ... ).

The SONY won!

I got the NZ when it first came out-actually the rlease day was the day it arrived and I have never looked back. Make usre you get it with the extra battery and the Wifi card though, a little more expensive but you may need the battery and you will definatly love Wifi.
Using Wifi you can hotsync without a cable which is great as well.
ENJOY, ENJOY!!!

Thanx guys for the support, im feeling good about this buy.......

03/23/03 1600 hours

I am home with my NZ90 after getting my money back from returning the HandSpring Trio 90.....it put a small dent into the price diffrence but i didnt notice much after i decited i couldnt live without at least one starting memory so i opted for the MagicGate 128mb one =-)

Im gonna take a nap now just to kill the time that I haveto wait for my very first Batt charge.....I wanted so bad to activate it in the car on my 1.5 hour trip home, my wife was driveing this my tactic for fondeling and drueling over any new PC game or electronic instruction booklet.

........come-on, you guys know what im talking about! hehe!
if i took the trip myself i know i wouldnt have even looked at the instruction booklet more or less read it from front to back..........hmmm and even the little add pics on the side of the box LOL!

ok at 20-2100 hours ill wakeup and expect to have a kick-*** first expiriance.......

Keep you all posted!
Shalom

Unregistered,
Just wonder it is true that you can actually return Handspring trio 90 and get back money??? How on earth is happening here?

In my country there is no such thing as return goods get back money even on the same day or same hour.

It's called money back guarantee...if you are not satisfy with the product within a certain time period, you can return you product along with the packaging with no question ask.

In Singapore, with Kiasu mentality, this sales policy might not work or if implemented, you would need a very short time period.

but the most i know is one to one exchange within 3 days or a week only. Not money back. I should consider to migrate to other country.

this is -BloodStripe-, it seems like i wasn't logged into the forum when i posted, strange is it not?

anyway, everything looks really cool and the NZ90 has so much to it I'm just about lost, LOL

The first charge of the batt went good, the NZ90 knew when 4 hours was up and made an audible sound and stopped the charge, i was impressed, this is a smart device:D

So far i haven't seen any dead pixels and the Batt seems ok, yes i do agree this thing does eat energy but look at all it has this is a damn multimedia platform, not just a Organizer, I'm sure the 200mhz processor isn't for organization of dates and times, hehe=-)

Im really thinking of a 2nd Batt, later though
I need some time to sit and run this device through some tests on this batt, also I'm still trying to figure out how to Import MP3s to my 128mb disk LOL!

Great bundle of software, this is true.

Just becasue of the 'money back guarantee' and you want to consider migrating to another country .. commo .. show some pride as a native of our country.
