Hi,
I have a Clie T665 and a 128 MB Memory Stick. I use the default audio player
to listen to mp3s.
For approx. one week I have a strange problem:
The player works fine for a special time, maybe 1/2 h or something, and then
it stops working. When one track is finished, it won't start the next, it
never stops during a track. The time doesn't advance anymore then. I can
click on stop and play but nothing happens.
The only thing I can do is a soft-reset. Then it works again until the error
occurs. I tried also a complete hard-reset, formatting the memory-stick and
using other mp3s but nothing helps!
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Karsten

You probably have some corrupted song files on the ms, now the question is: Which file is corrupted? Have fun finding that out. Check to see if any of the files are VBR (variable bit rate) this can cause errors and what not, the T665 won't play vbr's as far as I know.

If that was the case, mastervtec, then I'd be soft-resetting my clie 2 times a day (that's about how often I use it as mp3 player). I cheaped out and bought 64 MS as my first memory stick. Can't brag about lot's of room on it. So as a solution I use LameENC to make VBR's between 80-112 kbps. For about 100 encoded songs that did not pose any problems.
Though it very well might be that some mp3's are corrupted. Quelest, I'd suggest you try to check if the error occurs during playback of some particular song. Though AudioPlayer does give you an error message when you're playing a "corrupted" mp3 (I had a song with a tag in different language, it didn't like that), and still lets you play the others without reset.

sorry, you already said that you tried other mp3's... as ultimate solution, you could always send it in, if it's still on warranty.

FYI I use MusicMatch to make VBRs all the time for my T665 and they play just fine...

Hi,
I solved the problem. I dont really know how, but know it works again. I borrowed another MS from a friend and tried it, it worked. It was only a 32 mb, I have a 128mb. I formatted my MS several times and I run Scandisk on it several times. Then it worked, then again it didnt. It again took other MP3s and copied the exact content of the working card.... and so on and on.. it took me half a day. Know it works....
However, thanks for your help!!

I am recently having this problem with my Audio Player. Could you explain how you fixed the problem. Should I take all the files off my MS and run Scandisk on it? How exactly do I reformat my MS? Could this just be a bad MS, I was thinking of getting another one to see if that is the cause of the problem.
