Just got a chance to check on TG on close range. Don't like the keyboard and wavin at the bottom of the screen. Don't like the 16mb and 11mb usable ram. I like the form factor and the BT. I had make up my mind to keep the T665 untill Sony came out TG with OS 5.2 and 320X480.

I totally agree with you sindu!
I have had my T665 since December when my e310 was stolen and i wouldnt go back. The screen is higher Rez, and much brighter! I have a Sony compact foldable keyboard for my Clie, so the thumboard totally sets me off...
People have been wanting a T665 with HiRez+ since the T665 was released last june!! Come on sony, we can live with 16 or 15 or even 11 megs if you give us OS 5.2, 200mhz and HiRez+!!!

Then get an NX.
There is a much bigger market for the TG than the NX. That's why sony has not made a Hirez+ T series. It would make it out of it's market.
Just get an NX if you are so desperate for hirez+.

I was about to say the same thing.....if you are looking for a Sony with a keyboard 420 X 320 screen, virtual graffiti, Hi res, and OS 5.2 get the NX and wait for Palm to release the OS upgrade. I got the TG50 because of the form factor, I still get the HI Res and os 5 and I get the Keyboard that I was waiting for for a lonnnnnng time :)

I was just looking into getting the NX but it is not compatible with my Clie portable keyboard. I need that for typing notes in meetings and classes. Guess I'll have to keep on waiting.

As I mentioned earlier, I like the form factor and the BT but would prefer to have OS 5.2 that would have 32mb and 320X480 with VG2. I was tempted with NZ and NX but they are just too bulky.

I currently own T615 and I am anxious to upgrade (thinking about a T665 before they are gone) but you have to admit, even without VG, the TG50 IS a beautiful machine.....

strange, i find the wavin at the bottom of the TG screen and the wavin at the bottom of the T665 screen to be indistinguishable.

I picked up the TG from Sony style last week. I am very impressed with the form factor, pure speed of the device and the brightness of the screen. The screen is twice as bright as my 665C, but the waves at the botttom are annoying. I don;t use bluetooth yet, but that blue light could get annoying (flashes when connected).
There is no support for hires assist for other applications that I've found. My Sheets to go cells look like perforation lines on a piece of paper.
By biggest pet peeve...the virtual graffiti (VG) does allow for shortcut strokes for cut & paste, etc. Also, I use Textplus for quick word entry on my 665, it won't work with the VG or the keyboard.
The keyboard is a nice feature, but since I don't SMS on a regular basis, I don't find the need for it. I can whip off emails quicker with Grafitti and Textplus anyway!
Sony, get rid of the keyboard and out in the 320 x 480 with VG and you'll have a winner.
I have to go and send the TG50 back now!!

I don't have wavin in my T665. Nevertheless, the wavin in TG is very very obvious.

you must have a very special T665  . every color T-series CLIE i have ever seen has had very very obvious wavin, equivalent to that on the TG50 when set at equivalent brightness levels. it may be more obvious on the TG since the TG's max brightness is brighter.

What is with some people claiming that they can write faster using VG rather then the TG50 keyboard. Impossible!
A touch of one button is much faster the writing it out. no brainer. I guess if you have bad coordination or fat fingers hehe...hmmm
Im not being rude just having some fun :-) keyboard beats VG hands down.
I love the TG50 keyboard. Had had VG for 8 months before I bought the TG50. Much better

James, maybe you should read what I wrote...I use Textplus, it looks at the first few characters of a word and pops up a list for you to pick a word from...therefore a word typically only required 2 characters and one tap...how fast can you write keyboard with the tg50..I can do it accurately in 1 second with Textplus!
The TG50 is a fast unit, but the keyboard sucks. I'd rather have more screen.
Why doesn;t the TG-50 support hires assist? Or am I missing something?

I use word wizzard to help me complete the word after 2 stroke...As a matter of fact, I use word wizzard and word complete to help me speed up the text input.

Ditto....I bought the 615c, last summer, when i bought the audio adapter a few weeks later the 665 came out. I shoulda waited.
Tho the keyboard isn't a fullsize one, its still a keyboard. The main seller for me is the BT, and the form factor, and I've almost had my 615c for a year.

Da Saint,
Try Graffitiy Anywhere instead of pop up graffiti--it lets you use the shortcut strokes (assume you mean the left to right slash)
