View Full Version : Do PQAs run on OS5?
I tried one and got an error code, therefore I assume they are not running under OS5...
My question now is: are there any alternative solutions to catch up whith latest weather infos, currency updates etc pqa alike which of course can be used wirelessly?
Or do I have to go through my browser?
I am a newbie to OS5 so pls be patient;)
cheers Nicolas

Sorry, pqa's are not supported (yet I hope) on OS 5. Your alternative is to use mobile formated sites like:

www.evo.com/mobile
www.gilda.net/treo.htm

thanks both of you... yeah they need to get them fixed! PQAs are a quick, easy and efficient way of getting infos on the run...
AND most of all they are no RAM eating apps...

Unfortunately, I don't think pqa's will ever be supported on OS 5 pda's. The truth is that Palm VII and the i705, which is what web clippings were originally designed for, were not that big financial successes for palm. Thus I see no incentive for them to support a sys without any economic future. Besides, many pqa's have slowly been abandoned by sites anway. That too bad IMHO... But hopefully the advant of UMTS and 1xEvDo/Dv networks will reduce the need for pqa's in the future...
P.S. what's really funny is that you can get an app to get pqa's to work on PPC's  I hope I'm wrong and someone does develop a browser that works w/web clippings...
