I'm still waiting for my PSP, but for the meantime I'm trying to gather some accessories before it arrives. Im considering to buy a 1gb MS Duo for obvious reasons, but I was wondering if it would be compatible for both the PSP and UX50.

Compatible in the sense that If the stick contains music and movies would it work on either device when I simply take it off from one and put it on another? From what I know, the UX and PSP require different root folders within the MS for the respective apps to recognise the files and play them.

Any chance someone here has both the PSP and UX50???

I have both, the psp has its own directories, still it can handle "old" ones...
As for the video files, I don't think it will work as genuine UX video files are MQV files (Image Encoder 1.x) and psp handles only MP4 files (Image encoder 2).
But UX can handle MP4 files (needs some codecs and fmp to play files).

Edit:
For the video file directory I'm sure, I'll check for the audio file directory this evening...

Just remember the Duo adapter slows down the speed from the card to the device when using it with the UX. People have reported skipping of audio tracks when they played music and loaded another app. This has never happened for me using MS Pro even when my device slowed down.

lmame, is the MS Pro and Duo sticks have the same chip connectors. In that you could place a Duo in a MS Pro slot and remove it by opening the device?

I tried usind a ms duo in an adapter and putting it in a UX, it works without trouble...
But, if I put MP3 in PALM/PROGRAMS/MSAUDIO, they are not seen in the Psp.

That's exactly what I suspected. The two devices seem to require that the files be placed in a certain folder. The layout of the folders seem to be totally different between the two.

Talk about inconsistency between the two products from the same company.

This is weird because if the adapter is not slower for the UX50, this would save me a lot of money!

If its not slow. Then that's great. Try this, play music from your Duo on the UX and go into Docs to Go and save a doc. Then go to the internet using WiFi and browse to this thread and post if your audio tracks skipped or not. When I played music and browsed the web with music (via Bluetooth), I experienced no skipping. I have a WiFi card and my music is on my MS so you get why I couldn't test WiFi.
