File transfer

Is there a way to transfer a file(non palm prog) directly to the MS via IR. What I am trying to do is recieve a XP file from a friend who has it stored on his PPC. I just want to use the clie as a file storage and transfer device. My clie sees his PPC and the file transfer starts but the clie stores it on the handheld and then shows an error when it relizes it's not a palm prog.

Hi,

Well Palm's RAM doesn't support other file formats than the pdb, prc. So it connects but can't put files to RAM. So what you have to do is to have a 3rd application like ReceiveIt (I use it and works, but there are others for free) and what you have to do is to instruct the application to send the files to a directory you can create on the Card. This application overrides the system, so when something is being sent to your Palm it just directs the files to that directory. Easy and simple. You can even choose the extensions of files you want. I believe the freeware version only allows a couple of formats and the registered one a lot more.
