Wow...yer hate'n it.

Try wrapping them in really thick toilet paper. That way, if you lose them again, you can just go tear some more off of the roll.

Have you tried Sony parts? I'm not sure if they are reasonably priced although the shipping will probably kill it as a deal.

I know EBay sells that model of earbuds for about $20.

Amazon.com has them for $25-$30 at times. Free shipping with Amazon.com. Sign up for a Amazon.com credit card and you would get $30 off.

Sorry. I was just in "one of those moods" yesterday. :)

A simple Google query produced your solution and you can find it HERE (http://www.audiocubes.com/product/Sony_Replacement_Earbuds_for_MDR-EX81SL_EX71SL_EX70SL_EX51SP_NX1.html). If this doesn't work out, query 'MDR-EX71SL+replacement pads' on Google because apparently, you are not the only one who seeks replacement.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, you saved my EX71s and another 30 bucks as I was actually considering to buy new ones. I just ordered them from www.audiocubes.com for $17.50 in total. 10 for the pads and 7.50 for shipping. The price is overkill for sure, but atleast I dont need to buy new earbuds :D

I think the EX71SL are pretty good earphones for the price. I tried my dad's shure earphones, awesome sound, but the price makes u paranoid of losing them. But then again, that's just me I guess. :o

I bid on a grab box on EBay about 6 months ago because I thought I saw a package that looked like EX51SL earbuds. I won the bid for $4.99. It contained (2) sets of EX51SL earbuds a few USB cables, a Monster component video cable, along with a few other items.

I have thought about moving up to the EX71SL but haven't. The EX51SL earbuds are pretty decent, especially for the price :D .

What is it about these earphones that everyone likes?? I have been using MDR-E828 for months now & they sound better than the MDR-EX71SL to me. I bought the 71's last week & tried them out in the car. The volume was lower & I couldnt get any of the different sized earpads to fit in my ear w/o falling out or hanging incorrectly. Good thing I didnt leave the parking lot. It was my fastest return ever. 15 minutes!

Maybe you need an ear transplant...? :)

I was being serious, but I see there are alot of smart azzes on here. People lash out on people no matter what comment they make regarding any subject on this board. Guess thats just the personalities on this msg board. I guess I'll just go back to browsing this board only & not posting. ;)

There are alot better palm msg boards out there that have people that aren't pricks & have less censorship than this one.

BTW, Even when I held the earphones in my ear, the volume wasnt loud as my $15 ones. Thats all I was stating.

JEEEEEEEEEEZZZZ!!! Relax!!!

Some of you peeps need to lighten up. Or light up. One of the two. :)

Oh...and chill on the namecalling. I believe that is reason enough to get you banned here. Thanks.

I wasnt name calling. I just read several people comment on these earphones so I purchased them, & didnt hear anything special with them. The volume wasnt loud @ all.

I've also noticed on this board when people ask some questions or some newcomers ask questions on here, people rather type twice as much info about criticising them or telling them 2 search, & they could have just answered their question in 3 or 4 words. I was but @ the same time I wasn't directing it to you Smeggie. I just wanted to voice my opinion.

Im not the 1st person to comment on this subject either.

Dont get me wrong, this site is very informative. I've learned alot on this site. I just think people should keep in mind that just b/c you have had a UX or whatever pda for so many years, it doenst mean that Joe Blow has as well.

BTW, Let me be careful, I dont know what I would do if I was banned from here. I might have to slit my wrist if that happened. :D

I compared them to my headphones while in the parking lot. I returned them in less than 30 minutes. I tried all of the different earpieces as well as w/o any of them. The volume didnt seem to get as loud as my headphones. Who know, maybe I had a bad pair.

well, you said they felt like falling out ... I have a feeling you didn't put them all the way in.

you are aware that they are supposed to be worn quite different from the 828's ... press on them until it feels like all outside noise is muffled, it might help to moisten the silicone "gasket" a bit ... if they don't seal you will have very low volume and especialle the bass is gone.

on the other hand, well positioned with the right size earpiece they sound very nice, a lot nicer than my previous sennheiser mx400 ... imho of course ...

djboa is correct. You have to shove the EX71SL pretty far into your ear to get the correct/best sound. They are really ear canal phones rather than earbuds.

This reminds me of those cheap Koss earbuds a while back. They were my first earbuds and I had high expectations fron them. I put them on like I'd always have done with earphones. There was absolutely no bass and the sounds was terrible. I was thinking WTF??? After a while I put them all the way in and the thing started to rock my ears with bass, then Im like WTF!!! Awesome!

hehe that was a funny experience.

I had some cool ones that attach to your ears from Delta and they broke in one week. They are soo cheap.

Its less obvious if you steal the whole plane...no one will suspect all you want is the earphones :)

Guys I recieved the earpads this morning. I was pleasantly surprised cuz the item apparently comes from Osaka, Japan and it took 5 days to get here. The earpads alone cost me $10 and just $7 for shipping!! Wow, now that's quality service!
