Just curious as to which program everyone uses to look at there pictures. I personally hate the one that comes with the Clie, and was thinking of switching to another program...

I've recently switched to AcidImage from Splashphoto. Nothing wrong with Splashphoto, I just prefer AI's UI.

I prefer Acid Image and it covers the widest spread of file types, although Splash Photo is not bad either.

I have Splashphoto but also like the viewer in Yishow. You can move to different sections of hires pictures.

Not really, I believe there have been others in the past. How can I ascertain what app is best for an individual. They have to assess their own needs. It's almost as bad as politics :D!

I downloaded the trial version of acid image - but it only shows two photos. I have other jpegs and movies I took with my NX70v. What am I doing wrong (besides not reading the directions)?
So far I like the Sony viewer better than acid image - so I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks

donaldekelly,
Have you ever had 100+ pix to view? I thought that my BRAND SPANKING NEW NX had frozen... it was CLie Viewer =/
Before then, I thought it was ok.
Splash photo seems to have that suite of s/w BUT I have Photoshop / Graphic Converter to do all of my dirty work.
SO I just needed a RELIABLE FASTER viewer, so AIBE version =)

I bought SplashPhoto and used it for about 4 months because I liked the interface much better. However, there is a limit to the number of categories you can have, and after I filled up my clie with over 200 images, SplashPhoto took the longest time to startup.
Then I decided to give AcidImage another try. Ended up purchasing it after 5 minutes of playing with it. Not only do I not have to recategorize my entries for the app, but it's superfast. Fast in starting up and fast in displaying.
I'm definitely sticking with Acid Image. If only they would allow the dispaying of hi-res fonts, then it'll be perfect for me (my path names are quite long).
Kudos to both Red Mercury and Splash Data for their support staff and constant updates to make each app better.
IMO they are both excellent but if I had 2 choose it would be AI for the ZL support and it also seems a bit faster.

I'm voting for AcidImage because a) it's fast (way faster than the built-in Clie viewer), and b) it supports native formats like JPEG without extra help. It doesn't require a program running on a desktop PC to convert the photos to some special format only the software on the Palm understands.
Other software like Splashphoto and Picture Gear force you to use their desktop software to organize and convert images. No thanks.

As a correction, SplashPhoto DOES NOT require you to use it's desktop app. You can just dump jpgs onto your memory stick and it will find them. The problem is, you'll have to categorize them yourself rather than the smart way AcidImage works in allowing a directory listing.

I own both AcidImage and SplashPhoto. AcidImage is the better of the two (speed, categories, updates) but SplashPhoto has closed the gap significantly in speed on OS5 devices. On my NR, AcidImage was definitely the better of the two, but with my NZ it's not so cut and dry.

Okay, I am kind of slow
I realize now that Acid Image is so fast cause it gives you a view of the cached list of images - instead of relisting from scratch every time you click on it like the Sony Clie Viewer does.
And to recache it you have to click "open"
One question - AcidImage does not do movies - right? At least it is not listing them on my NX70v.

No, it's just a pic viewer. But if you use AcidImage, you can just launch the Movie Play app to see cached images of your movies.

ok but can you print from AcidImage and SplashPhoto?
If not how can you print your images on m-sticks?
