Is it posible to put all of the updates and patches for the NX70v into flash with JackFlash. The only reason that I ask, is that certain of the updates are huge (MM Flash Update), and it sure would be nice to regain the space for other things.
Sorry, no. JackFlash cannot put newer versions of existing system files into ROM (cannot replace files with same name).
I've my updates in RAM, removed unused languages (for european version only) and moved my normal apps into rom.

Hi,
my nx70v is also an european edition. On reading this, I deleted those _DE and _FR language files from RAM.
Shouldn't that give me some more free FLASH space.
I have ClieMounter {4K} and NetFront 3.1 {1819K} in FLASH and I am left at 737K.
How do I make more FLASH space ?
Cheers.

You can put some of the updates in Jackflash, such as the voice recorder update, or new versions of the audioplayer/movieplayer. For the latter, you need to change the file header with a hex editor though, then it will allow you to move it into Jackflash.
@Marre: Ok, that brings us to the question WHAT has to be changed in the header?
@shashi: There is an app "JackSprat", which can delete files from ROM - BUT: not for Sony Clies, they aren't supported an won't be ever :(
Thus, there's no chance to get more Flash memory usable/free for us Clie users :(

Trust me, it becomes very clear what you need to change once you fire up the hex editor and look at the very first bytes of a prc file.
It will have the application name. Just change one character and Jackflash will think it's two different apps. Once transferred and all that, you will probably have two icons for two versions of the apps. Just hide one and that's it.
It only works for updated apps (the prc's), but not libraries. However, some libs such as the wavcomposer that fixes the wav created by the voice recorder can be jackflashed because originally there isn't any.

Not sure, since I have NX80 which doesn't require it. You can just try it though.
