There was some discussion about someone making the "crossingover" prog. work on a Clie (nx70). Did anyone ever make one?
Or, what are the alternatives? I have come from an Ipaq and am really getting tired of all the "up" strokes.
Thanks for your help!
Scott
ps. I think this was discussed but have done a search and can't find it.

You can use CIC's JOT - it's a bit expensive, but does what you want...

I've written one based on the mid-cap capability of MemHack and that I'll be releasing under GPL ... it isn't exactly polished (it does crash the first time you sync it on, seems fine afterwards, I've been using it on my NX70 for the last month just to make sure ... I've not lost any data yet!) but it does work and has several different options (I personally prefer to have any stroke that ends outside the alpha area to be capped for instance).

The biggest question at the moment however is how I go about putting this somewhere so people can download it, the files area of this website for instance ... anyone got any suggestions on how to go about doing so? (sorry, this is the first time I've released software of any type so this is all a little new to me) ...

Hope you get this figured out soon :) I really miss MiddleCapsHack. I will be checking the apps section.

Hello,
Have you made any changes to Capper since we last spoke?
I was wondering if you got the alpha to numeric to work.
What I mean is when you cross the line???
Also can there also be that mark that one could relocate on the graffiti area.
So you know when you cross it it would make a cap?
Thanks for your continued efforts with the MidCap needs!!!

I really like the beta of TealScript. The Middle-Cap functionality works perfectly. Definitely try it out.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't TealScript basically a graffiti replacement
with added features?
One of those features happens to be MidCaps...
I really don't need / want a massive app just for 1 feature...
Please advise

I guess it is a graffiti replacement, but I tried it for the middle caps. Then realized I could customize the graffiti for things such as symbols, etc. Surprisingly, it has become useful and my graffiti entries are almost perfect. (believe me, this app has been around for ages, and I never wanted to try it).

If you have enough room for the app (about 68k), then try it. But I see what you mean by just having a streamlined app just for middle cap entry.

n0m0n:

Unfortunately I've not made as much progress as I would have liked ... it is still based on where strokes start and end as opposed to crossing certain lines during the stroke ... I'm not really likely to have a tremendous amount of time to figure it out, at least not in the next month or so, I've been snowed under with work for the past 2 and the only thing on the horizon is another blizzard :(

Still, it should be up somewhere within the week depending on how much more work gets shoved my way! (I've sort of figured out how to put stuff up at palmgear, I'm still trying to figure out how to get something into the files section on this website ... I think I must be looking in the wrong place!) ...

I faced simlar problem.
I tried mucking around with MemHack, but all I can do is to capitalise characters that start and end at different graffitt region (ie, alpha and num). Characters such as A works fine.

However, characters such as D won't work because one must start and end in the same region!

I don't know how to detect a stroke that has gone through the num region and back to the alpha region.

Thats precisely the problem I had ... however if you use anything that goes outside the alpha area as being cap, you can do D by making the end of the stroke end somewhere to the left of the alpha area (on top of the menu softbutton for instance). With this system, you can do every letter quite comfortably with the exception of G (I'm trying to figure out if its more comfortable to make it end below the alpha area or to the right of it ...).

Hi all!

OK after much delay ... too much delay ... I've finally cleaned up Capper enough to be happy to release it :D

If anyone wants it, it's currently up at PalmGear, http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=48476

I've released it under the GNU General Public License so the source code is also in the zip archive ... I've also fixed the crash-on-first-sync bug so it *should* be stable now. :D

This is the first time I've released anything for Palm (or anything else for that matter), if anyone has any suggestions or sees anything that seems 'weird' about the program or the distribution, do send me a message! :)

Hi - tried Capper. Excellent! No crashes so far. Simple and effective - so many people have been waiting for this :)

Option # 3 is the best, I've found :)

Thanks, good to hear someone is finding it useful :D

Actually, thats the other thing ... if anyone wants to suggest alternative start/end zones to add, they should be able to be added with relatively little effort ... the snowstorm of work I've been under is still here unfortunately but once I've figured out how to write the UI a little better I might see if I can add in a little more flexibility with regards to user-defined start and end zones if there is a demand for it ...

Capper is a huge timesaver, thanks for making time in the middle of your snow storm. I couldn't seem to find the time in my schedule to begin the project.Originally posted by Raybot

I'd love to see the start/end zones added as I'm struggling with getting a few chars to finish outside the abc area.

If you manage to free up further time I think there is scope for alot of development within capper, not just as a middlecaps-esque replacement but a complete grafitti capitalisation assistant... keep us updated with your progress...
