Hi, I am a college student and own a Sony Peg-NX70. I bring my Pda almost everyday in school, but recently discovered that the battery was low in power approximately 12%.

I was expecting the battery power would be 100% because i charged it the night before. Anyone has an suggestion or prediction what might be the problem?

thanks....

If it had indeed charged fully the night before, sounds as though your battery just fell off of the end of life cliff that LiIon batteries inevitably fall off of. Your best bet is to go over to http://www.cliebattery.com. They sell a battery that comes with a screw driver to remove the anti-do-it-yourself style screws. Same thing with mt NX and that is what I am going to do.

Good Luck!

I had the same problem when I was charging with the little connector instead of the cradle. I found that when I fiddled with the connector the charge light which was already on became brighter so I now make sure its fully bright and it charges ok.

Whoa there! Not true! The screwdriver they send is NOT, I repeat, NOT the star shape that is used in the Clie. I also ordered my battery from there and yes, it did come with a screwdriver. However, it is a plain old Philips screwdriver that won't get you anywhere. I too was excited about getting a screwdriver to fit my Clie. I mean, $30 is kinda high for a battery when there are better ones on eBay for less. I thought the price was well worth it with the included screwdriver. Beware!! I'm not saying this is a bad company, but I didn't receive a screwdriver that would work. That was a few months back, so maybe you will get the right screwdriver....but I wouldn't hold my breath. :o

You might try Brando. I understand he sells the proper screwdriver for 10 bucks. Here is a link if you want to check it out. http://shop.brando.com.hk/penno1screwdriver.php.

I got my NX70V replacement battery here for only $20 - dirt cheap, and it came in less than a week, even though it ships from Hong Kong.

The screwdriver is the toughie, but it's not insurmountable. Find the smallest precision phillips you can, or a 10mm slotted screwdriver works, too. You need to apply a fair amount of pressure, and you'll probably damage the screw heads just a little. However, it worked - out they came. Cover opened, out came the old battery, in went the new, in went the screws. Once you get the screwdriver to catch, it's virtually trouble-free.

It turns out the the original battery is held down simply with a piece of adhesive tape, which is why you have to take the whole thing apart at all.

Are you sure it is charging properly? AFter a year or so the battery would glow AMBER but would not charge, I would have to fiddle with the connector... takes some practice.

HOPEFULLY it is not your battery that has gone bad...

I bought one from the same store, but when I got it, the package had a slight odor (like ether I think), and there was a tiny hole in the plastic covering the battery. Do you think it s still usable ??

It's probably ok. They were probably cutting cocaine when they packaged your battery.
