this may sound a stupid question but I have used a few different CD rippers to convert music CD to MP3 for my clie but I can never seem to get one that keeps the track name, all my playlists playing in pocket tunes consist of "track 1, track 2, track 3....." you get my drift, can anybody tell me if I'm doing something very wrong or can recomend a good freeware app that will do this.

Are you connected tothe internet when you rip the CD's? Usually the software gets that information from an on-line database.

What Serotta says. They all should do it. Music Match, iTunes, ect. But you do need to be connected. What program are you using?

I have tried
CDRipper21 and MPEGWARE CD Ripper which I downloaded from download.com as freeware music rippers.
and of course I tried windows media player which seemed useless.
I have a set of mp3's which all have the track and artist showing in audio player but all these tracks were downloaded from the net with winmx.
I haven't tried itunes yet.

For an MP3 newbie like me, iTunes gets a big thumbs up for features and ease of use!!
