 I am about to buy my last Clie, until they start US sales again. I hate to think about life without a Clie. I just bought a new TH55 for a great friend. While setting his up, I did not like the small stylus but other wise it's a super handheld.
My Question, Between a choice of NX80, TH55 or UX50, which one would you buy? I am currently using a NX70,

I only have a '55 and am not familiar with the 80 but if I had to buy again... I would buy another '55. Sorry, but I love this machine. I haven't owned another pda so the stylus really doesn't bother me at all... I'm sure you'd become used to it aswell. I know the UX has some extra internal memory and the attached keyboard, but whenever I want a keyboard, I use my palm universal (which of course is close to full size). I haven't come across a really negative point yet. Others might disagree and I might not know as much as others but I say...
...TH55

Thanx Scrguy, Have you tried to find a stylus that will fit that is not retrackable?

My Question, Between a choice of NX80, TH55 or UX50, which one would you buy? I am currently using a NX70,I currently have a N760C, NX70, NX80 and Treo650. The one to 'work' with is the 80 ........ best screen of the Clies in size and sharpness. T650 is brighter, as crisp but smaller. If I could buy another 80 right now that was new but wasn't being charged an arm and a leg, I'd do it and put it away till the current one dies.
Really matters what you use a PDA for. That will help determine which to buy. BTW ......... you know something the rest of us don't? I wouldn't hold your breath till Sony comes back at least with PDAs.

FWIW, I used to own an NX70 and upgraded to the TH55 last fall.
It's been the best move.
I agree with another poster's list of top 10 reasons... However, here's how I see it relative to my TH55:
1. Supports and has Sony Memory Stick slot available
The TH55 has the Pro driver pre-loaded. More importantly, if you ever suffer a hard reset 'in the field', you can restore from a Pro stick. On the NX70, you're gonna have to carry a non-Pro stick for this.
2. Supports and has Compact Flash slot available
Agreed. However, given the hassle of making the CF slot work with the multimedia apps, its value is only for supporting a CF digital camera.
3. Cheaper than later models
I sold my NX70 at a reasonable price and got the TH55 before the recent run-up in price...
4. Has a Camera
As has the TH55. One can argue that the TH55's form factor and button placement allows for more 'natural' picture-taking. However, I did enjoy the NX70's unconventional form-factor and its stealth picture-taking ability.
5. Supports BlueTooth MS
If you're willing to spring for the European edition of the TH55...
6. Supports Wi-Fi LAN
But the TH55's battery life on wifi is so much better. The NX70 is atrocious on this count. But the NX70's processor is nice and zippy.
7. Can Play Movies and Music
Ditto.
8. Supports NES/GBA/Sega/TG-16 emulators
Don't have any experience on my TH55. The biggest impediment with the TH55 is its button. Thankfully, the PEGA-GC10 works on the TH55.
9. Comes with an awesome media controller
Yes, arguably this makes the NX series so wonderful.
10. More reasons later...
The TH55's form factor is nice. It's trimmer on all accounts and fits better into my pocket.
I would skip the UX50 mostly for its battery issues.
Between the NX80 and TH55, it boils down to:
1. Form factor - If you don't require the clamshell functionality, the TH55 wins.
2. Keyboard - If you actually use the mini keyboard, the NX would be it. I found out that I could use a full-size keyboard more than a mini keyboard.
3. CF slot - Again, if you have a compelling use for one, the NX would be it. After six months of adventure learning all about Sony's tactics, I gave up. (My only (and most reliable) use of the CF slot for reviewing dcam pictures wasn't very compelling nor necessary.)
4. Remote control - if you use your CLIE extensively as an MP3 player, this is a god-send. Me, I bought an NW-E95 that I wear around my neck.

UX 50 if you can afford it. BT and LAN.

Plus the keyboard. I love the UX keyboard. ;) If you plan on doing a lot of email composing, or other writing that's more than entering an appointment, you can't beat the UX keyboard for input (barring 3rd party collapsable boards of course). With KeyQuick, I hardly EVER use the stylus.
If you're NOT going to be writing a lot, and viewing a lot of video, go with the TH.
I do both, and although I'd like a bigger screen like the TH, I'd sorely miss that keyboard.

NX80 is the best:
* Form factor like NX70 but better size and screen sharpness & brightness.
* Better camera than NX70 & TH55.
* Native CF access for programs and files. TH55 doesnīt access CF at all.
* Native MS Pro access, no matter if hard-reset.
* 16 MB memory accesible for apps and files (the other 16 are for Sony apps).
* 15 MB aditional memory available with JackFlash (FlashROM).
* Wi-Fi access with CF option available. Donīt need to sacrifice the MS slot for this.
* Better battery life than NX70. But this issue is better for TH-55.
I would buy an NX80 again... :)

I have moved up from the NX70V to the TH55 and what i really like is the 32Mb memory instead of the 16 Mb of the NX.
For the small stylus i bought a ballpoint wich also has a stylus build in, so i alway have a pen and a stylus with me
