No one isn't serious enough to work with me to get it working.

Only jjesusfreak01 has really tried MediaLauncher and reported that AudioPlayer doesn't work. If anyone is really serious about this, let me know.

JAmerican, I am really serious about media launcher on th. In fact I already asked for help in the landscape thread, but no one answer me.
I've installed it on my th-55 before the landscape app demo arrives. It does work for video, and photos, no problem. The audio tab doesn't even appear, instead, it launches the built in th audio player. Another bug is when I try to launch media launcher again tappping on it's icon, it launches the audio player. The only way I seem o have media launcher back, is by launching video recorder (that I installed my self) and tap the video player buton. This time instead of opening video player, it goes to media launcher. All this is about the japanese version, not the one you translated. That one worked first time, but stopped workin' later with an error like not having audio library, or something like that.
Anyway, all of this was done in portrait. I tryed landscape app but nothing, it stays portrait.
Please, help us.

The Landscape utility is the only thing bringing you a step closer to using the ML on the TH. I think these other sections might not work due to files are being replaced that already exist on your device. Look here for some instructions I gave earlier...

Since you installed it before...

You have to hard reset your device to remove any trace of it. Follow the instructions of the post above.

All right JAmerican, followed your instructions and reinstalled ML. This time your translated version, and only the files you listed. Now the audio player doen't work at all, it gives me an error (in japanese - my TH is japanese) about not having sound library or sound support. The same error when tapping the audio tab of ML. Again if I try to open ML a second time it goes to audio player and keeps giving me the error. The only way to reopen it is to open video recorder and tap the video player button.
About the landscape, the photo tab goes landscape. But the video don't.

The japanese version of the ML I tryied before, does not inutilize audio player, it keeps working fine. The rest is pretty much the same.

Any ideas?

Everything is good until the "launches the built-in player" part. The built-in player does not work in landscape, and it has caused me some problems, like hard resets, and the like. Unless someone can re-engineer the program to keep it from accessing the built-in player, it is NOT going to work. This is the only limitation.

Oh. Ok. I think you might need UX Audio Player, and Movie Player for it to really work. The Photo Tab is based off of the Viewer in the CO, but doesn't fully depend on it, only its databases. This is why it works.

Translation is easy (no offense to JAmerican), it only requires resource editing. Hacking programs is a much harder project.

Of course, we may only need to download the libraries.

I could distribute it but thats only if the TH users really want the UX software, seeing it is inferior. LOL. I'll make it available later. I'm not home now. If any UX users want to upload the software, by all means go ahead.

I think the movie tab is restricted to portrait (it defaults to portrait using an unrestricted version of the landscape app). This can be a problem. The audioplayer still has the error, but ill try it a few more times.

JAmerican.
Just tried the files you posted. Still no go for landscape on video and audio tabs. Since I'm using the japanese version of ML, I don't have the errors in audio tab that jjesusfreak01 mentioned. In fact after installing the UX versions it doesn't stick on audio player like before. Now when I tap ML it launches ML every time. One thing that is bothering me, the audio player looks exactly like my old one. Even the menus are in japanese. You said that they were in english. The movie player is absolutely diferent, and it's in english. Maybe I did something wrong, I don't know.
Anyway, thank you a lot for your time.

ok, I got media launcher to work, I didn't need the ux video and audio player. (I left out the files sonyjpegutillib and my clip jpeg plugin.)
The thing is Landsape does not work with this app and I don't think its useful without it because you can't see the whole interface. Maybe the guys at mobile steam can try to get thier app to work on Media Launcher.

Hi everyone. I've been away from the forums having too much fun with my new landscape TH. So now Media Launcher has sparked my interest. I installed the 9 files as detailed in JAmerican's instructions. It stays portrait. This is very exciting after reading the incredible results UX users have had with the translated app. Your efforts are greatly appreciated JAmerican! I will be happy to help out if there are plans to continue.

I'm afraid I haven't paid too much attention either.
When you get the bugs out could you devote a new thread to it ala Landscape?

It seems killer from the skimming I've done, but I really need to sit down and delve through this stuff to figure it out.

Either way, if someone is doing something to make our superior machines moreso, then go get 'em tiger! :)

EDIT
NOT TH over UX superior, because the TH is made stronger by stuff like Movie Recorder, but Clie being superior handhelds in general.

I like and respect my UX brothers, we're all HHE at the core!
The TH and the UX should be friends! ;)

Media Launcher uses the DSP chip that AFAIK, only the UX, TH and VZ Clies are equipped with. IIRC, the NX series don't use this...? They have a 200MHz ARM CPU, no? The UX, TH and VZ use Sony's proprietary HHE processor and DSP chip.

That sounds cool to me. More media capabilty, who wouldn't want that?

Clie owners should stick together. It's going to take the competition a LONG time to catch up to where we are now at the rate things are going.
No one is going to make these things for us geeky types from what I'm being told!

Sorry guys, don't think this is gonna work. Landscape or not. Looks like your just gonna have to get a UX or VZ to really enjoy the Media Launcher. This is only if some hacking can be done by someone but not too sure if that is legal or not.

Allowing CLIE apps to run in the mode the device is set. Currently, soem CLIE apps restrict the Landscape app and turn peoples devices back into portrait.

JAmerican
Its really the other way around, the landscape app restricts the rotation, not the programs themselves. They will likely allow for an editable restricted list sometime in the future. I know the first part of this because the BETAs do not have this problem, but they figured that no-one would want to do this, because these particular programs (audioplayer, movieplayer) do not work in landscape. Whatever they did unfortunately affects the media launcher app too, though I doubt they intended that.

Actually I got Media Launcher to run on My NX and I can get Landscape in the Photo tab only.

One other thing, I can play music fine with it but the little visualizer at the the top right won't show up, I know its not a big issue but if anyone had gotten it to work let me know.

There is hope. The main problem is with the audio tab, which doesnt work very well, because the built in player tries to override it. The movie tab is in portrait only, because of the landscape apps restrictions. It will work, but the audio tab will take more work.

JAmerican, I dont think there is an updated version out yet. Ill assume you thought this because it says 1.01 in the faqs section, but there is no new version yet.

Its not a deleted file, its a written over file. Do a warm reset (hold the button on the left side of the back, when looking at the front). Get into a file program, like filez or clie files, and delete all of the media launcher files. It has not been perfected for the TH-55, so it will not work right now.
