Hi I got my NZR70V last week, I have a 128mb twinmos MS, but it's being rather odd with mp3s.
I'm transferring them as it says in the manual, via import in the audio player program, but it'll only show some of the mp3's I have downloaded onto the memory stick when I go to play them. Last night I put 11 onto the MS and only 4 were showing.
They're all 128kbps encoded (been encoded with windows media player), and there's still at least half of the stick free....can anyone help? I've also tried formatting the stick and trying again, and also just putting the MS into my card reader and dragging mp3's into the msaudio folder, but the same thing happens :(

I assume it's always the same mp3's not showing up? Coz it sounds like an mp3 file problem rather then NZ-fault.

Nope, i'm trying random mp3s every time. The thing is, if i put the memory stick in a card reader attached to my laptop, I can play the mp3s fine on winamp, media player etc.
It's really annoying! :)

I mean, if you copy the same 10 2 tims, it's always the same mp3s failing...right?

Did you record using VBR? (variable bit rate) if so, forget it!

I have the same problem with a 128 MB MS and the NX70V.
I use MS Import to copy files onto the MS. Some of those missing mp3s are 128 or 192 kbps encoded.
Is this related to some ID3 tags? can anyone help?
Thanx

Had the same problem but got it fixed by deleting a file called 'mp3 list' in the same folder on the MS where you stored the music tracks. Hope this helps!

salchii - no, as I said, _random_ mp3s, not the same ones failing every time.
catgenie - I can't find this file when I browse the ms in my card reader, how do I delete it?

Not sure because the file didn't come back after I deleted it.

Since I have discovered that it isn't NX or NZ, it's only a NR, my info above is not applicable.
Hopefully the MS was formatted in the Clie itself. Use MS Import and make sure the mp3 files are not copy protected. All NR70 Clie updates have been completed. I don't trust some 3rd party MS readers.
I never had this issue before myself.

Argh! The problems gotten worse, now even when I transfer MP3's that worked perfectly on the past on my clie, they will NOT play! I pretty the play button, nothing happens. They've transferred ok, I can see they've used the right amount of memory on the MS.
Can anyone help? I've formatted the MS three times now and it's still happening! It's a twinmos MS, has anyone heard if these cards are any good? I'm transferring the mp3s via the transfer feature on the clie audio player.
Could it be the MS or the clie itself that's causing the problem?
Help!!! :(

Your NR70 could have the much discussed contact problem whereby the memory stick is not macking proper contact inside. I had a problem similar to that as well.

I use mostly use my NX now, but I did repair the MS drive on my NR. It's a very delicate operation to perform to increase spring tension. You could though put some cardboard and tape on the MS opposite the pins to help it make contact better.
