I just started using Wassup and:
1. I can't see my DateBk5 icons.(pref is checked for icons)
2. Whats the "ticker" and how do you see it?
3. Unless I check "slow", the radar clock is fully filled in,not segmented.
4 Does the clock in "radar" only show timed appointments?
Thanks

anyone?
1. Can't answer it since I don't use DB5. I use A5. The A5 icons work just fine. A5 is awesome. I can still keep the OEM DateBook. Tapping the weekly option of the OEM DateBook brings up A5. This is just too cool. Also I put A5 as one of the icon in the Wassup launchpad. The price is right (free).
2. Ticker is another way of seeing Appointments. Instead of a static label showing x appointments next in y hrs z mins, you will see a scrolling (moving from right to left in a single line) of all of your appointments for today. Tapping the icon will bring up Radar, just like the Appointments. Tapping the ticker bar would popup today's appointment, just like Appointments. Initially I was wondering why the ticker scroll over for a while and then went blank. After a few seconds wait, it showed up again. I think it was scrolling blank section at the time. It makes sense to me now. I like to set it in fast mode. One thing I would like to change is the default ticker icon to that of Windows XP Appointments. Does anyone knows how to do that?
3. Right. I like to set it for fast with light blue color. The segmented background look as if fully filled. My 33MHz is just way too slow for slow view.
4. Yes. I like the way the hour hand changes color from blue to red when it is in the appointment zone. Cool!

Dan, I have written Gavin about intregrating A5 with Wassup. He said that he will look into it. He as of yet has not even heard of A5. I believe the question posted was referring to the DB5 icons showing up in Wassup. In the appointments option in prefs you can select
DateBook
DateBk
AND
KsDatebook
Any of the above apps that utilize icons will show their icons within Wassup if the "Show icons" is selected in the Appointments preference. I am excited about the possibility of Wassup integrating with A5 in the above options. A5 jams!
If I am wrong and A5 is already capable of being selected as the default appointment application, please let me know.

As long as you choose DateBk as your appointments option, the icons display just fine.

Thanks DanT,
That helps a lot.
Anyone using DateBk5 with Wassup? I still can't get icons to show other than the built-in icons. I did choose DateBk and checked show icons...?

Not for me...?
kennyd, thanks for the clarification. Let's see if I understand your explanation. Since I just use DateBook, which uses no icon, therefore Wassup will only use the default icon or whatever skin I use, for the Appointments?
I guess you right about A5 is already capable of being selected as the default appointment app. I never look into that since I want to keep the default DateBook assigned to the DateBook hard button. As I understand it, there are several ways to make A5 as the default appointment app. Two that I know of are:
1. Use EasyLaunch to assign the DateBook button to A5
2. Go to Prefs, Buttons, and customize the DateBook button to launch A5.
The default DateBook is still useful for me to look at the Month view of appointments. I still can easily launch A5 from DateBook by pressing the hard button twice to launch the week view which is now defaulted to A5 (if you install and activate the A5WeekHack that is).
Alan, my guess is the app may got corrupted. You might try to uncheck the Command Bar Launch in Wassup Menu, Prefs, General tap. Then uninstall and re-install Wassup.

With release 1.4.1 I now get all my appointments showing "Next in X hr 5948 mins. The "X" differs and appears correct, but it always shows "5948 mins."
Wassup with that? :D
I just cover it with the Appt. Ticker for now :D.

I think there might be a missunderstanding. The icons that I am refering to are only visible when you tap the "Appointments" sector of the main screen. When in the main screen Wassup has a sector that anounces how many appointments you have. If you tap that sector the text associated with that sector pops up. The icons mentioned above are visible only in this pop up. In other words, some datebook applications utilize icons that can be associated with events. Wassup is capable of showing not only the event description, but also the icon that is associated with the event in the datebook application that you are using.

Another missundersting (unless another version beyond 1.4.1 is now avaivable). There is not an option as of yet to select A5 as the default scheduling application. The only applications available for use as of 1.4.1 are
Datebook
DateBK
AND
KsDatebook
These options are available in the menu "Preferences" within the "Appointments" option. This is also where you can select whether or not you would like event associated icons to be viewed in Wassup.

Shrink. If you are using SwitchDash or the HiRes assistant it may be giving you problems.

You have me beat, mine always says "Next in 5096 minutes." :p
kennyd, I think your second explanation finally got into my thick head this time. Thanks.
I see now what you're talking about. Since A5 is not supported by Wassup, when I tap the text part of the Appointments sector, all I see in the popup window are:
10:00 am-10:30 am appointment a:016:00
3:00 pm-4:00 pm appointment b:032:00
Icon New Appointment
where :016:00 and :032:00 are the icons in A5, right?
It looks like there is enough room on the second row of the Appointments option to put A5 next to KsDatebook. That would be nice to have it included in the next version. Thanks for mentioning it to Gavin.
When I first purchased the 1.3, it included a pretty thorough manual for it. Have you seen the manual for 1.4 and 1.4.1?

Yes - apparently the numbers are used to index the table of icons. Tho it makes the display messy in DateBook if you use a lot of icons.
Chalk me up for A5 icon support.
I love Wassup and A5!
Yea, I wished him happy honeymoon on the other thread. This stuff would be the last thing in his mind right now. Surprisingly he did manage to issue 1.4.1 after mentioning his getting married, so I bet he keeps an eye on this forum, especially with all of the Wassup commotions.
