Yesterday, Best Buy lowered the price of the T665 to $299.99
(I think to match CompUSA.) They gave me 20% off on an open box unit. It was a clean unit;
someone just returned it.
Was $239.99. Works great! Also, synced with my old Palm Vx programs
and data base.
I agree with everyone's comments regarding the T665, SJ30, NR70, etc. Whatever you like best; it is a personal decision.
Please send any comments you might have.

P.S. - By the way, the"Thin Font Fix" Program makes all the
difference in the world as to the readability of the characters.
This is a third party program I think many of you know about for the Sony Clies.:)

I prefer Lubak's (http://www.domino.sk/lubak/) "OS5" Clie font from this package: OS5.pdb (http://www.domino.sk/lubak/OS5.pdb)
The font metrics are better. Programs like AvantGo would not wrap the text at the right place with the default sony font or the thin font fix font, but the Lubak "OS5" font works great.
You need Font Hack 123 Beta 4.0c (http://www.sergem.net/fonthack123/fonthack123-40c.zip). For this font, which also requires a hack manager, but it is worth it.

Would be better if you could select which apps it worked on. I have a few that I would prefer not to use it on.

Which are you referring to: Thin Font Fix or FontHack 123? You can configure Font Hack to use fonts for all apps, but for certain ones, you can select to use the standard fonts. It's not as easy as just checking a box, but you would assign the replacement fonts to "all" and then for the apps you don't want to use them, oyu can select those to use the standard fonts. You do have to select each of the font types since Font Hack lets you assign each type individually.

THe size 22 fonts seem to work well (I like tahoma 22).
i am going to get this clie t665, but i am wondering which colour is better. The orange or the regular one. Where can you get the orange one for the best price?
Thanks so much.

I think the silver color is awesome. I think it might be easier to scratch the paint on the orange one.

Thanks for all the advice about the various Thin Font Fixes.
As far as cases go, here's another post I just made about the slipper case from EB Cases:
_______________
Take a look at the slipper case from www.ebcases.com.
The reviews have been very good. Supposedly you can charge and hotsync without removing the T665 from the case.
I ordered slipper case and pen stylus from EB. I expect to recieve this in the next few days. I'll try to get back here with a message after I receive the shipment from EB.
Check out:

Good Luck!

Thin Font Fix works on my T665 very well. I uninstalled the Thin Font Fix and installed the Font Hack 123 Beta 4.0c. It installed but does not appear as an application. So I went back to Thin Font Fix.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Alan
Font Hack is at:
http://www.sergem.net/fonthack123/fonthack123-40c.zip
according to earlier post.

Errr... To get FontHack 123 to work, you need a hack manager like "X-Master" (freeware).
FYI, if you've already X-Master installed just tap it to access your hacks and check-box FontHack 123 to activate it. Then config FontHack.
For OS5 fonts do following assignment settings in FontHack:
HrStandard = OS5(0)
HrBold = OS5(1)
HrLarge = OS5(2)
HrLargeBold = OS5(3)
Note: I've heard you can run both ThinFontFix and FontHack at the same time. (ThinFontFix is very stable and FontHack stable while allowing full font customization on your CLIE.)
Enjoy,
