Can anyone rec a dictionary and fin calc for the NX? I downloaded MSDict, but it wouldn't work on the NX. Thanks much.

MSdict works fine on my NX and it seems to be the best dictionary out there.

I loaded 2 files: MSdict.prc and the explanations.pdb. The MSdict.prc went onto my internal RAM and the explanations.pdb went to the memory stick. Are there other files that I may be missing? or did I put things in the wrong place?

That sounds right, but make sure the database goes in the MSFILES folder on the memory stick. The path is: /PALM/PROGRAMS/MSFILES
I just remembered that one time after installing some new software or a database it conflicted with MSdict and would cause a crash, so I uninstalled the problem file and it worked fine. Im sorry but I can't remember the specific software or database that caused the problem.

I can't help with a financial calculator recommendation, but I can recommend Noah Lite from ArsLexis. It is the freeware version and four different size dictionaries are available depending on your needs (and, of course, available memory - - they range from under 1 meg to over 5 meg). The bad news is that only the shell/viewer program will run from MS in the "Lite" version. Purchase of Noah Pro adds various enhancements, including accessing a dictionary on the MS. I'm cheap (frugal?), so I'm living with the free version for now. Hope this helps.

Can't help with a dictionary, but a couple possibilities for a financial calc:

BSCalc--Free, not a comprehensive financial calculator, but does basic annuity/discount time value of money calcs. On my NX, the buttons change from nice ovals to squares after tapping them once (didn't happen on my old Palm)--maybe an OS5 issue? Not high-res, hasn't been updated in a long time.

Abacus--Emulates most functions of HP-12C. Not high-res, or color, but it seems to work pretty well.

KK-12C--Covers all HP-12C functions, and looks like the real thing, particularly in the high resolution mode. Not cheap at $25, but it is fast, and works very well. I just registered it this week.

As always, YMMV.

Good luck.
