Hello! One caveat, the MS Pro driver is still necessary for proper operation! Sony has NOT released the driver yet, maybe at the end of the month, from what others have said.

I don't know if there is any left currently. If you buy it, just keep in mind that it needs the driver and don't get frustrated with it. Biggest issue it seems is with mp3's and movies without the driver.

I know, I've read that. If I bought one now, I wouldn't even attempt to use it until the driver came out. I would just get it because I found one available. Actually, I've seen a website or two that previously stated "out of stock" which now state "in stock" Now just to remember which websites they were and whether they actually had them or not....hmmmm.....

I would really like to get the 1 gb stick, but think I'll get a 512 mb one now and wait to see what happens to the price of the 1 gb stick, and also what develops with cf drivers (if there trully is a beta coming out in April).

i'd love to have a 512mb stick, however 128mb sticks are sooo cheap (with all the rebates) that I've snagged a few of them... so I probably won't be getting a 256, 512, or 1 gb stick for a long time!

All of the Memory Stick Pros will support the ATRAC3, etc. with the proper driver enabled...

Sony's whole initiative to push their secure removable media is based on the new MS Pro concept.

We should all be wary about information we find posted in other links within Cliesource...and take them with a grain of salt.

Given that no drivers exist for the clie's, we don't know what it can or cannot do until they are released and running...

No for our devices (NX/NZ/TG) the MS Pro will not support Atrac3 format even with a patch. Sony themselves said this look at the thread that n2ifp was talking about.

The statement from Sony(http://www.css.ap.sony.com/clie/announcement/AnnouncementDetail.asp?Id=NEWS000047) does not specifically say that MSPro will NOT support ATRAC3. In fact, it does say that it "includes copyright protection", which is ATRAC, or some revision of it.

I believe "MagicGate" here refers to the current/old white memory sticks, and not necessarily the MG-feature of the MSPro. This is consistent with what's noted in the Clie catalogues, which I brought up previously in this thread: http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5973

Hi Larry,

I took the plunge and got the 512 MB to go with my NZ90. So far, I can confirm that it works perfectly with mp3s and Kinoma movies. I can also use the Movie Recorder and it played back perfect. You do have to soft reset once after installing mp3s in order for AudioPlayer to detect the songs.

I don't understand why others had issues. I did use HotSync to transfer those files instead of MSImport since I'm on Mac and that's the only way. Missing Sync will hopefully update their driver to support MSPro mounting.

It's faster with MSPro. And the amount of space I now have really puts a smile on my face :)

I think so as I have had no issues on my NZ except for mounting MSPro on my Mac which is expected anyway. Evertything works like it would on my MS128 except it's faster.

Yes, it's been awhile and good to see you on here! I didn't know you had upgraded to the NZ90, but that's fine. I wish you the best of luck with it! There wasn't enough reason for me to ugrade from my NX, so I decided to hold off. I did pick up a new VAIO laptop instead. We all know more Clies are coming :)!

Those with MS Pro issues have been mostly NX users. Sony has hampered things by not releasing a Clie driver as of yet. Additionally, info put out by Sony, unfortunately, has been confusing at best.

Only 512mb? I thought for sure you were a gigabyte man :)!

KenSong, i think your NZ90 got no issues which mentioned before by a few guys which maybe their set are from US or Europe.

I saw your link is Malaysia, Penang which mean your set is the same as mine too. Your set model is NZ90/G right? I think Sony set different standard from one region to another region just like the DVD codes.

Even Sony release some patches also stated that only asia's set can be downloaded and installed only.

To be concluded, Asia set may not have all the issue as other region have. Pls double confirm for all those with asia set before i purchase 512MB MS Pro. Thanks.

I do not entirely understand, I am pleased as can be with MP3 - it seems to me that the reason for ATRAC3 is mainly to get people comfortable with a more secure music format... Maybe I am mistaken, I do not know much about these formats.
