View Full Version : Best WiFi for T5?

QuickQuestion
02-09-2005, 12:01 PM
I know about the WiFi card from PalmOne and the SanDisk card with the extra 256MB. Are there any others?

Which is the best card that works with the T5? Are there T5 drivers for the SanDisk card yet?

Also can anyone comment on battery life while useing WiFi on a T5? I know it will be less but by how much? Thanks.

AFAIK, the only card that works with the T5 (or T3) is the PalmOne branded card. The Sandisk won't work in anything other than a Zire 71 I think (and then only the normal Wi-Fi card; not the one with integrated memory IIRC). Sandisk claims that PalmOne won't release the code necessary for the T3/5 to function with the device (or at least not fry it or something).

Tam Hanna mentioned a rumour of a driver circulating for using the SanDisk WiFi + memory card on Palm PDA's. Here's the link he posted in another thread http://tamspalm.blogspot.com/2005/02/possible-sandisk-wifi-driver-for-te.html

I bought the PalmOne card on Tuesday and am loving it so far. Looking forward to testing it in the university library on Monday. :)

Cheers,

Hi,
I have already gotten a few success and failure reports as comments. A reader emailed me that the card found a network in his T5, but could not connect. I personally beleive that it was a mistake in his configuration(try WEP instead of WPA, no security,..) and please keep me posted!
