My NZ90 is only a week old with 3 or 4 recharge cycles and the batter gauge says 1800 cycles with 10% degradation!
What gives?
How do I get it to read the normal number of cycles (perhaps 4-6 ) instead of 1800??
Should the battery be 10% degraded so soon?

Seems like batteries have been a big issue with the NZ.
You shouldn't have 1800 cycles yet, have no clue what casued it nor do I know if it can be reset.

I think the bigger problem has been people's expectations coupled with more battery info. I get substantially better battery life with my NZ than my NX. Surf longer and take much nicer pictures with the added bonus of a flash...So many people expect far toomuch out of the battery. Whether there is a software glitch in the camera app remains to be seen. I suspect it is intended more as a limiter rather than glitch. My battery works fine and has increased in performance.
Cretan, I'dtake it back. That sounds messed up....

No matter the quoted problems, queries over battery life, whining, laughing from other Clie / PPC owners ;) etc etc, 1800 cycles and 10% degradation over 1 week is NOT RIGHT! Take it in and get it changed. Don't take any sh*t from where you bought it from.
At 1 week, I was on about cycle 4 ... naturally, 0% degradation ...
Go and get it changed.
NOW.

I agree, doesnt sound right and I wouldnt take chances with a 1 week old device.

There is a procedure in the documentation of your NZ that talks about crazy readings with the battery indicator. If I remember well, this procedure takes some time to complete, but if your PDA is that new, don't bother much, just go to the shop, show the problem and get a replacement.
What you are reading is wrong anyway. My PDA is about 10 days old, 5 cycles and no degradation at all.

Yea I'd get it changed. I mean its a $799 device so you might as well have piece of mind if you don't have any cash :p

If I were you, I will ask for a replacement. I get 10 cycles 0% degradation after 4 weeks usage.

What is substantially better mean? Is it because of NetFront :D?
I can see where the flash would consume lots of power. Any electronic flash I have ever owned needed lots of current to recharge.

Actually , Larry, it's been confirmed that Netfront actually doesn't use any battery, but recharges the battery.... Thus the only drain while surfing is the display. It's kinda like a perpetual motion machine. If you were to turn off your display and turn on Netfront, your machine will run forever.....
No, really....
