View Full Version : Getting Palm Desktop data to STAY public but pda date to STAY private
What I want is on my palm desktop to have all of my information public all of the time so that I never have to type in my password. Does anyone know how to get it like that?
I have had it like this before but for some reason it just changed on me and I don't know why. Does anyone have a solution for this?

In Palm Desktop, under the HotSync, Custom menu item, you can choose to have either "Desktop overwrites Handheld" or "Handheld overwrites Desktop" for the default apps (and some other). Perhaps this is what you wanted?

Try going to:
Tools->
Options->
Security->
and then just uncheck the box so that you don't have to re enter your password everytime you open the Palm Desktop.
Whoever opens the program though will be able to see anything that is not private.
No, the Palm Desktop doesn't ask for a password to open it asks for a password to access my information, and none of this advice worked. Thanks, anyone else?

I don't understand what you mean that it asks for a password to access your information? So you open the palm desktop and then what happens or what do you do?
I click on view, and then it is always selected to 'hide private records', so I click on 'show private records' and it shows them, but if I open the desktop up again I have to do the same procedure, but I want them to be public all of the time.

I have never heard of that happening before maybe it's a glitch with the software. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling again?
