Check out the latest entry into Google's Lab: Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/). It looks very promising. Hopefully it will do for maps what Gmail did for web based mail.

they don't have the united states of Texas.... ;) that map is sooooo hard to come by...

Doesn't seem to have austria in it....

seems to be missing a few other continents too... :)

of course it also has a lake for lake lucero here... :D I always love laughing at maps over that.

The is a very nice site, the maps are so much nicer looking than Mapquest and such. But, the map data itself isn't that up to date. My street isn't even on the map, but has been here for over 5 years. Yahoo Maps and Mapquest both list it, but not yet on Google maps.

it actually looks like they took the source data for the GPS map I have in my Garmine GPS.

Very interesting.

Someone has already whipped up a Google Maps extension (http://dream.sims.berkeley.edu/~jantin/wordpress/index.php) for Firefox. (Note this is an unreviewed extension)
