Hi guys. Has anyone here used their clie as a guitar tuner? I have the lateset version of PhonTuner but even thought it "works", it appears to be getting the notes all wrong. When my guitar is correctly tunes, it hears it as bbeing of by ~50%. Does anyone else ahve this problem? Are there alternatives that work on the TH-55? THanks.

Yes, I use PhonTuner on my NX80v, and it works terrifically! Have you gone into the menu and selected guitar instead of singing?

Yes I most definately have. ITs just way off...i dont understand why. dont even know how to contact the makers to inform them about this. Want to confirm with other TH users about this first.

Yeah, Phontuner has never given me the correct reading on my TH55 too...none of the other tuners that uses the mic works on the th55.

When you installed phontuner you need to install the version made for palmone handhelds becasue the TH uses the same API as they do, allowing the TH to use pocket tunes or Aero player.

If what blck1jack wrote doesn't do it...

Maybe you are running a util or hack that's throwing your TH off somehow?
I know there are some utils that will cause decreased video performance. Perhaps there are some that will throw off how the TH55 works with this program as well?

Just a guess...

So somehow the TH mic readings are just inaccurate I guess. This is disappointing.......Dammit. My $700 gadget cant do what a $20 buck tuner can do.

It works great on my TG50, but not my TH55... and I think it is primarily due to the speed. I think the TH55 is just too slow for this program, the way it is written, to work properly. (It also may be that the only two programs that work properly recording sound on the TH55 are VoiceRecorder and MovieRecorder... I haven't found any others that do)
I've noticed that higher notes are more accurate.

The speed of the TH-55 affecting it? Thats an interesting theory...

Lol 1ns4nity.. so many things cost $20 or less and do things my nx cant.. for example a video cassette.. or a bottle of coke.. lol
I get your gist tho. Someone fire off an email to the developer?

Since the concept of a guitar tuner is based on a solid frequency standard, I wonder if the problem in trying to use it on the TH55 has to do with the variable speed capability of the processor. If that is the case, you may not be able to make it work on the TH55.

Just a thought...

Maybe the HE CPU is defaulting to 8Mhz with that app?

Or more to the point, the app wasn't written to account for the HE CPU?

I have a UX50, same thing here, weird results when I try and tune.
