"Grit" under screen

I've managed to get a crumb or a piece of grit under the screen of my almost new N770.
Anyone recommend the best way to get it out (is it easy enough to take the cover off), and how do I stop it happening again.

If it is under warranty, Sony has been known to repair at no charge. They replaced the screen of my N610 when I found dust under the screen.
