I want XCOM on my Clie!!!!

Just in terms of a personal wish list... it sounds like Civilization on my NX may be a reality soon. That is one of two games that I still enjoy playing after almost 10 years. The other is a game by Microprose called XCOM: UFO Defense. I've been playing that game on and off since 1994, and it still is a great game. It seems that if Civ can be ported to the Palm OS, this one could be too. Am I the only one that thinks so? And is there anyone even considering such a project? Give me some hope here, someone...

XComs great, haven't played it since they released the slow verion on the Playstation.

Ran good on a 386 so should run good on a Clie'.

It would have to be completely recoded remember.... and the company would have to give out the license to someone to use it. Civilization for the palm was a complete rework of the original, and didn't use any of the original's code afaik. It's a lot of work.

Just for the sake of dreaming though, I would have to agree....

Xcom really is one of the great oldies that I still think about.

Seeing it on the palm would be fantastic... I wish more companies would do conversions, but I guess the market is just too small.

There is an open source of XCom on Sourceforge. I would try to port it, but am currently trying to port Crimson Fire, a Battle Isle clone, and am having lots of problems with Palm's memory limitations... and Crimson Fire has far less tiles and such than XCom...
