I always wondered why my handheld keeps on freezing whenever I run MS Import. Whenever my computer detects MS Import, it always search for the contents of my 32MB Sony MS using AutoPlay (whatever that is). It keeps searching for the contents without stopping. Then, my NR70v freezes, then I have to reset it.

I already formatted the memory stick and my computer still do the same thing. However, whenever I inserted the MS into the MS slot of my NR, a warning pops up saying:

"Handheld Error: The startup application for this card cannot be run"

Can anybody help??? Please???

UPDATE: I formatted it again and whenever I accessed E:/PALM/ through windows explorer, I got a warning:

"E:\PALM is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable"

I had it since last September. Maybe I should return it to Sony.

I'm just guessing but I would format MS and the reinstall Desktop and reinstall MS Export for the CD. If that doesn't do the trick, uninstall Desktop AND MS Export and start from scratch. All your data is saved in program files/sony handheld/backup. Good luck.

I had the same problems and formatting didn't work. However, what DID work was changing the name of the card to something other than default or what the old name was. I haven't had the problem since.

Both of the above suggestions are excellent! I automatically name my cards (it's a habit), but I've found that reinstalling everything fixes a 'world of hurts'.

Good luck! :)

Try to format it with Card Info in your Clie NOT with your PC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the CLIE won't recognize the MS without the MEMSTICK.IND file, right?
