What games are you waiting for?

That's right, it's 2005, and that means this year will bring on a boatload of titles for all the new and old consoles coming out. So what games for which console are you excited about? I shall start.

I (will) own a PS2, which means that I am looking forward to:
-Gran Turismo 4 (HD. nuff' said.)
-Tekken 5 (I'm a Tekken freak)
- Devil May Cry 3
- Time Splitters: Future Perfect (TS2 is a rapefest!)

I also plan on buying a PSP too. For that, I think the only game that I'll be wanting for now is Ridge Racer 5 and Metal Gear Ac!d.

I have no gaming platform... so I am still waiting for bloodrayne 2 for pc.... its been out or both xbox and Ps2 for months.... :(

I'm already happy and content with The Minnish Cap.

Microsoft, tis happy abandoning the platform that gave them their fortune. It's going to only get worse with the Xbox2.

I want a Final Fantasy anthology for the DS... Make Square put out a $50 cart with the first 6 final fantasies, don't screw it up by making you control things with the bottom screen, and they will have a bestseller.

I'm very disillusioned by the Big Games industry right now - They're churning out the kind of crap that would make Hollywood proud.

(And I'm really really bitter about Sam and Max 2 still. Grrr.)

I own an xbox. I'm looking forward to:

1) GTA San Andreas (comes out for Xbox in June)

I didn't know this, but the Xbox can do OpenGL. I saw D3 at E3 and it didn't look that great. The PC version looks about 10 times better.

The controls alone on any console make FPS game 50 times harder then they should be.

So far the Metroid Prime "demo" is by far the best FPS on any console, because that touch screen makes it so easy to aim like a mouse. :) I just don't like having to take a momentary pause to change to missle. But it's still much better then any "evil" anolog-thumb-aiming-game and infinitely better then any digital-thumb-aiming-game.

Once you get used to the stylus, Hunters is a very VERY good demo. I only hope the final version is just as enjoyable.

Same here. I absolutely loved Metroid Prime and so far even multiplayer in Echoes is great, just need to play single player when I get time, so I have confidence that Retro Studios has a clue about how to make a great game. :)

I really hope they carry over the same game play from the GC and it's not just a FPS. I like things like building up a shot before releasing, locking missles and combo weopons.

A port of Super Metroid would be the best that could happen, but it wouldn't stay 2D sadly. It's a shame everyone except the little kid game makers abandoned 2D after the 16-bit consoles.

And you are surprised by this? This can be applied to almost any game. The main one for PS2 that comes to mind is Metal of honor; The PS2 versions are decent at best, but when stuck on a PC look fantastic.

The XBlah is direct X based. XBlah == DX8. :p I could be wrong, but Doom3 will be the only XB game to use OpenGL.

And the quality thing is one major reason why I'm not a fan of the XBox. Pixelated PC games with crap controls are always fun. :rolleyes:

If I'm stuck with a controlpad and a TV or even HDTV(WHich still looks just OK.) I would rather be playing something unique. Come to think of it, I pretty much dislike most US game developers and the crap they dish out. :o

Nope, don't have PS2. I probably would've got one, but my friend bought one the day it came out and pretty much every title he purchased was absolutely awfull. And then there's the horridly slow load time like the Xblah. I just don't have the patience. These things left a sour taste about the PS2 in my mouth. I like the much faster load time of the GC and it's quality games. :)

That game looks weird. I'll ask to check it out at my friend's work next time I'm there.

I like games that i can play over a period of 2 years. :)

Period of 2 years.. sounds like the RPGs on the PS2 could hold you for a while. Xenosaga, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, etc.

It took me a year to beat Metroid Prime. Not that I'm a tard, I just didn't have a chance to play it that often. :) I still haven't finished WindWaker, but I'm close.

I like my DS, because then I can play the games any place. Because of this I was able to finish Link to the Past in a week. :)
