is it possible to avoid websites recognizing netfront as a japanese device thus forwarding the browser to the japanese version of their website instead of the english one?

You can probably change its default user agent. Do a search on netfront hacks.

In NetFront: Options > NetFront Settings > Go to page 4 > Advanced Setting > Check "Change User-Agent." Below is exactly what I have my TH55 set to:

Mozilla/4.08 (PDA; Windows NT 5.1/5.1) MSIE 6.0/6.0

Seriously though...some websites you visit via NetFront will recognize you as using a PDA...and therefore some features/services will be denied to you. Changing your User Agent to what I posted in post #3 tricks the website into thinking you are really using a Windows XP computer running Internet Explorer 6.0
