I've finally used up my base 16MB, so it's time to get a MS. I use CRS-Launcher, and I seem to recall that CRS-L combines nicely with one of the memory managers to achieve proper MS use. Which one was it, and does it work well?
I tried searching here and on Google, but I think the information is either long gone or not in English.

CRS-Launcher doesn't seem to have built-in VFS capability (I can't read Kanji, so I don't know that for sure...). I would suggest using MsMount if you really want to go that route. MsMount uses a directory on your stick. Move stuff to the directory and they run from it (including databases) as if they were in ram. I recommend MsMount mainly because it is free (go to www.freewarepalm.com or www.palmgear.com). PiDirect or PowerRun should also work well, but at a price.

I used CRS-Launcher before I got my NX70V. I seem to recall that it does support the memory stick, but you are required to create a separate MS tab because it won't sort apps on the MS.

This was posted by Glorybearer on Cliesource on 07/06/02. Should answer all your questions about crs-launcher, including shortcuts from memory stick:
Sw.Skip - allows one to skip whatever tab is selected when using the jog dial, and only allows one to select that particular tab with a stylus.) The tab will turn grey when this option is selected.
Sw.S-Cut - this is where all short cuts from McFile (File/MS Manager) are stored. Short cuts can only be stored under this particular tab and will not show up under any other; also, only shortcut icons can be viewed under this particular tab. (I labeled this tab S-Cut on my unit.) The tab will turn blue when this option is slected, except for when it is selected with the Sw.Skip option.
Sw.Docs - I'm shure this tab functions like the Sw.S-Cut tab, although I don't have any Doc files installed on my unit so I havn't seen this particular tab option in action. Only Doc files can be stored under this particular tab. The tab will turn red when this option is selected, except for when it is selected with the Sw.Skip option.
Step by step instructions:
1. select whatever tab you will be defining.
2. select the tab menu.
3. select Sw. option.
Is CRSLauncher VFS Compatable?
Answer: If your asking if CRSLauncher has it's own File/MS Manager then no it does not. You need to install McFile (a $12 app. and well worth the price)onto your unit if not already installed for this option of CRSLauncher to function. The little box with a check mark in it located above the Calc button launches McFile. I think that this option is a big plus towards CRSLauncher. McFile also comes with a text (.txt) viewer.
A side note:
I think CRSLauncher is an excelent launcher. I really like the jog functions that allow you to skip through tabs and select applications the way that it does (I've not seen these option in other launchers.) I also like the quick history option. Heck, I like everything about CRSLauncher. It may not be all that good looking, but hey "You know, there's more to life than being realy, realy, realy, realy good looking," and besides, you know like, not everything can be, like, Zoolanderish you know; although, with the right skins CRSLauncher can be made to be really really good looking for all the good looking people. (For example, I have THE DOG graffiti skin installed from http://www.vinko.com/andrew and statusskin_os5_memstk.prc from http://forums.pdabuzz.net/showthread.php?threadid=38956&highlight=status+skin located on page 2. I think it looks great. If anyone wants to see what it looks like I'll email a picture.) McFile integrated with CRSLauncher make up for its lack of a VFS, and who needs two File/MS Mangers, besides I've not seen a better File/MS Manager than McFile anyway. (I hope I am using VFS in it's proper context.)
I've tried Yoshi, Launcher III, Silver Screen, and didn't care to try Megalauncher, yet none of these have satisfied me like CRSLauncher (and let me tell you, I am not easily satisfied.) In fact I'll be suprised if Launcher X will satisify me more than CRSLauncher. I could go into detail about why I like CRSLauncher over all other launchers out but that's not what this thread is about.
I just thought to give CRSLauncher it's due respect for I've heard others speak lowly of the launcher."

LSAlford: Thanks, that's the post I remembered. Now I just have to decide if that's the appropriate route to go...
