What but what? I used to use ic 1.0 or 1.1 I guess. I just started the dvd ripping expedition again since I discovered pocket dvd and ic 1.5. Pocket dvd breaks a 90 min movie into 3 segments for me totalling about 84 mb of AVI. I then convert with ic 1.5 to mqv and it balloons to about 200 MB total! I am used to seeing ic actually compress files and save space... what gives? The good news is atleast these three files will play off my 512 stick without freezing .... but getting some effeciencies realized would be good. I know that some of you are thinking.... why does he not just throw those avi's into mmplayer and move on .... because the trial version does not let you even test this on their latest version .... so how do I know if I will like the results. I use kinoma 2 and thats why I convert to mqv using IC. For those who who want to post their 5 step instructional piece using 4 different tools, thanks but no thanks... pocket dvd appealed to me cause it was simple and reminded me of dvdxcopy (RIP ;-() a couple clicks and you are ripping your end goal. I got kids and a wife who already looks at me like Im crazy wastin' time rippin' movies to a clie ..... one day I will rip toy story to her zire 72 and she will use that in a pinch and thank me .... ok probably not.
so .... any ideas on this rambling??
I set pocket dvd to default video quality at 320 X 240 and mono audio 22khz, I also set it to break movie every 30MB since these smaller files has been the only way I can seem to watch movies without it freezing at the same point every time ....
Thanks,
Keg
