After a hard reset, my Hi Res option has disappeared. In Preferences, when trying to click the 'Enable High Resolution Assist' box I get the following error message: Missing System Files - This application cannot be run because the required system files are missing. I run my Clio with a Mac under Missing Sync. Any ideas? Thanks. Larry Belling (lbelling@mac.com)

Have you run some sort of ROM updating program like JackFlash or JackSprat? If so, it may have been deleted. If not, then I am stumped.

Thanks to Riversen who asks if I have run a ROM update. Nope. Never heard of JackFlash or JackSprat. There are two files in my system called HighReso (22K) and HiRes (9k). Could these have become corrupted? How would I re-install them? Many thanks,
LB

This has happened to me a few times - I'm afraid I think it requires a hard reset. (backup first!)

Thanks for the advice. The answer is to delete HiRes and HiResos files. I learned this after two hard resets.

I have the exact same problem. But I can't find where I have those two files. Maybe I don't know where to look? Should I do the Hard reset or look for those files first. Where to look?

Thanks for help.

Hit your home button. Click the menu button. Choose Delete. Scroll down. If you see items HiRes or HiResos delete them. Go back to prefs and see if the HiRes box can be checked. If not you'll have to do a hard reset.

I am using SwitchDash instead of the built in Hi-Res Assistant, I like it much better, and it allows programs to run in Hi-Res off of a memory stick.
