There is a new ffmpeg for the mac that has psp support and the files work on my UX50. Only annoying thing is the file names and the icon in media launcher don't work. Simple set up, just select the PSP profile, if you want a smaller file you can change the FPS to 14.985. Enjoy!

This is based on ffmpeg that is available for Linux as well?
I have ffmpeg patched with the Windows 3GP Converter stuff working great, but I still need to run a Windows program called ATOMChanger via Wine after ffmpeg finishes the job. I'm interested to know what this program does to the resulting file so that it's identified by the Clie as playable?
Finally we're getting to convert videos for our Clies outside of Windows.
(NB: Regarding the thumbnail icon for MediaLauncher.. IIRC, ffmpeg can create the THM file that contains the thumbnail... the 3GP Convertor calls ffmpeg to do this IIRC. I haven't tried it myself, however, as it's not a big deal for me..)

there is a patch for ffmpeg that includes the extra stuff ... unfortunately I haven't been succesfull in compiling it for windows with xvid and aac support, so I can't say how well it works compared to 3gp_producer ...

This is all fine and good for the UX50 and the TH55, but can I create .MQV compatible files with these tools to use on an NX70v? Can Kinoma EX use the .mp4 files these tools make?
I tried using ffmpegx to create an .mp4 and Kinoma couldn't see it and neither could MoviePlayer. Am I doing something wrong or does this just not work?
Thanks,
Ken

Yes Kinoma EX cam play .MP4, but you need to be using the 15 day trial version or a fully registered version (has to do with the mp4 codec). place the *.mp4 files in the /palm/programs/msfiles folder. That should do it. If not try these presets: Video- Codec: MPEG4 (.MP4) ffmpeg, Size: 240 176, Autosize: 4:3, Framerate: type 15, Videobitrate: approx 160; Audio- Codec: AAC, Audio bitrate: 40 kbit/s, Sampling: 22050 Hz Channels: Mono ; Options- Check the following boxes: Two-pass encoding, High Quality (optional). *Note: if you encode from a file that has already been encoded, the quality is not as good and the audio will be out of sync. Best to encode direct from .VOB's. Good Luck

Thanks! I'll try that. You wouldn't happen to know the size to use so that hitting the + in Kinoma once would make it full screen?
