Not a chance. You don't withdraw from a market where you've built up a name, generating ill will from your users and damaging that name, if you plan to return imminently.

In five years maybe. In a year, no way.

I believe SONY's new PDA's are VAIO mini-tablet laptops.

Introducing the Sony VAIO UGN-750p...

but they are very pricey ya know. clies were already very pricey but affordable. the u70/ u750 has cross the price line where most ppl are willing to pay for. also its not pocket friendly!

No, Sony is not coming back to the PDA market. Their attention span is too short for that.

And the U750p? Will, I'm posting from one right now. :D If you want to see mine, look here (http://www.dailygadget.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4355&page=1&pp=15) :D

The 750p has been out for a while now...doesn't seem to be selling much. For 2 grand I can get an amazing laptop

The U750p started shipping 12/8 and all available units were sold within 3 weeks. Not sure why you think it's not selling well.

I'm sure Sony could have sold many more units here if they wanted to. Most PDAs are too big for my pockets. The U750 is Sony's 1st generation product. Over time they will become affordable just like laptops did. Remember the days when a good laptop cost $3K-4K?

I'm not so sure it was a trial run as opposed to an initial run. I've heard they only made 500 of these. They disappeared from Sony's website but have resurfaced on CompUSA which makes me think they are going to be getting some. I'm going to be upset if they release it with the 30 gig hard drive they put into the U71.

I agree - Sony could have sold a lot more of these.
