Instead of using conversion processes from one to the other and then sound extracters, use a video capture.
I recommend Camtasia Studio 2. All you have to do is:
Play your dvd movie on your computer but not fullscreen. Resize the window so it is quite small - around the size of 320 x 240 resolution. Pause the movie from where you want to start recording. Yes the beauty of this is you can choose where and when to record in your movie. A particular scene or chapter or extra - wherever you want :). Start Camtasia. In the options make sure record audio from speakers is enabled and the volume setting in Camtasia's options is high.. Select the region you want to record by dragging a box over your movie window area to the correct size. Press the record button in Camtasia and then unpause your dvd movie. Stop recording when you wish and then stop your dvd player The file will now be saved as an avi file ready to be immediately selected in Image Convertor and uploaded to your memory stick.
I have had great success with this. Please give it a go.
