When my NZ Battery is fully charged in the"smart Battery" info it says I have power for around 6 hours (although this number varies every 10 seconds)

How much time (does the NZ say) is there with a fully charged battery with your NZ?

Just curious-Thanks!

How long do you need to charge? I was thinking to get one too. Is there any diff with Nx70 beside of 2MB camera+bluetooth?

How is the Piscel Viewer? Is this better than the viewer in NX70?

As mine took about a few minutes to generate the thumbnail for 500+ jpg(each 50kb only). The worst part is where you view full screen and switch back, it will regen it again.

This is quite useless when compare to acid image.

Sony Customer Support told me their documentation states that a fully charged NZ90 battery will last 14 days if used for 30 minutes a day. They failed to note that god forbid you use the camera for one of those 30 minute days ... :-)

The flash unit would be the biggest user of power.

they forgot to mention that backlight is OFF. Unless you work outdoors, I no of no one that would use his unit for hours without a backlight.

mine fully charged:
backlight off 11:22
backlight on 7:48

but as soon as I start using any apps that drops drastically

I am getting the same... I find its between 6-7 hours, Backlight on lowest setting and i take a picture every now and then... One time I saw it go up to 12> I have used my NZ for two days with no charge and still have about 40% battery left. Right now its charging. I am taking it to work tommorow for a real test, we shall see if it makes it through a full day.

So far though, I love my NZ. I am happy that I got it and the Camera is reall Cool to always have with you.

Weird batteries ... Yesterday, I left the thing charging overnight ... it was originally down to about 20% ...

... took it off the cradle this morning, turned it on and tapped the battery ... wait ... wait ... *ping* 23-odd hours ... which immediately went down to 15 something, then 14 something and straight down to 6 hours 25 minutes! All in the space of about 6 seconds!!

I run the screen at about 10% of the full brightness ...

As has been pointed out, certain apps make the battery seem to drop quite low but this goes up quite fast when you turn off that app.

Sometimes, simple is better ... ;)

it is the battery's chemical characteristic reaction!!

I think the Picsel viewer stinks. Formats word docs badly if they contain internal tables. Quite a few of my Adobe files (.pdf) don't show but 10% of the document.

I think the Picsel viewer is not very good. I think RepliGo is the best viewer out there ($40). Great replacement app for Picsel viewer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have noticed that screen brightness has been mentioned several times in this forum in a way that indicates it is adjustable. Example: "screen brightness at 10%". Am I missing something as I can only seem to do full brightness (backlight) or very dim (backlight turned off). Is there some adjustment I can't seem to find ... or am I getting wrapped around the axle over nothing? Cheers ....

yes, to adjust the screen's brightness... click on the little "sun" like dot in the lower left corner of the silk screen. A sliker control will appear, drag the "pusher" along the slider and the screen brightness will change.

My NZ's battery has been getting better w/ age. Also I notice that the longer I leave it on the charger (even after the orange light goes off) the larger capacity the battery seems to have. I am up to around 13 hours when I first turn my NZ on after a charge overnight. However after I turn the NZ on for a few minutes it begins to go down to around 6+ hours and stays at that capacity until I use it heavily, (then it drains at a slow consistant rate).

Hit the blue/white arrow on the status bar, far right bottom of the screen to bring up virtual graffiti, over to the left under the home and prefs button is a little dot withflares outward, tap that...

mine fully charged:
backlight off 15:32
backlight on 10:18

but as soon as I start using any apps that drops drastically to 8:55 hours and then it drains at a slow consistant rate).

Just for all of info, due to my eagerness to start using it i charge only 4 hours as stated in the manual book.
What is the diff between 4 to 6 hours as mine it will stop charging it(shown on it led) after about 4 hours ???

yttan, so you have bought your NZ90 at S$1399. In fact we have a few singaporean users here, but some have given up nz and gone for TG50 instead. I think the price is too ex and most are not very comfortable with the battery issue.

As for me (also singaporean), most probably will wait for the next high end clie with better battery/equivalent digi cam, screen size/USB-OTG/wifi/bluetooth.

Marudine, finally got to know Singaporean at outside forum. Do you join SPUG forum?

Actually i purchase nx 70 at last December after i had giveup my T615c. You should know what is happening, with less than a month, NZ90 launch in Singapore with pre order in Sony.com.sg. What a deep impact on me that i should had wait for NZ90 as i learn it earlier that it had coming out in US when i had bought NX70. i had decided to NZ90/g until it's display at road show which i can only have a 'live' touch on it. It's colour is better than NX but it is less sensitive than NX.

This actually happen with my T615c too after 3 month i had bought it launch out the T665c which better colour too. Before that i use N760c/g for about half a year.

I prefer to use NZ as i can use it with my 'bluetooth' T68m with upgrade to T68i for surfing net downloading email with attachment(use snappermail) but battery life is bad only when you use it camera with flash or else everything is fine.
As for me i got a decent canera F707(5 mega pixel digital cam with one of the best len in the world, carl zeiss)
If you want to use more camera just buy the extra battery loh.

As for waiting for the next high end clie with better model i heard people said that they will not rebuild the same form factor as you can see Sony is going to smaller form again (TG50) just like my disappointment set T615c (lousy colour- although at that time it is the slimmest colour PDA in the world)

Point i don't like about TG50 are : No mini digi cam, small screen size, got the lady powder cover image when you use it with the cover attached. If without the cover it is ugly as there are 2 hole is kinder look amiss of something.

So which model you are using now?

Yttan,

I have to say that I love the NZ90 just as it is. I have digital SLR cameras, but this week I was in Las Vegas, and it was a plessure to use my NZ for the ocational snaphots I needed.

I would not mind if the battery did last longer, actually I think it would if we could change the defaults dictating for how long we can use the camera, I would love to have both the com slot and the camera work down to 10%.

Go to the house and just below it is the applications launcher where you can delete, beam, etc. Just below that is a little tiny sun. Tap on that and you can adjust your brightness. (It is right beside the little "a" in the lower left hand corner of the graffiti writing area.
