I'm sure this isn't a new thread by any means, but as much as I like the default Sony launcher included with the TG50 I'd like more customization with a launcher. Maybe if I say what I'd like to have in a launcher someone else might have some ideas or suggestions? I'm looking at MegaLauncher, ZLauncher, YiShow and SilverScreen, but some of the exact features I'd like are listed below.
* - Inherent VFS support, can add programs on a card to any category.
* - Able to customize the entire look of launcher using themes/skins. I'd like to make the launcher look like either a PPC or what a Mac device would look like
* - Small footprint: 1MB or less in size with skins and themes.
* - Ease of use/User friendly. Uncluttered look and feel
* - Affordable price. $20 or under.
Please give me your ideas and suggestions.

I'm very happy with Launcher X, I'm also using one of Lubak's well made skins. Some of the things I like about Launcher X;
- Tabs
- Drag and drop functions to the toolbar (delete, file info, beam, copy/move to memory stick, tools, off/lock, backlight etc)
- as an added bonus the toolbar on the bottom (which can be minimized for the screen real estate concerned) makes the uneven lighting of the screen disappear, as it really is only noticable on white backgrounds.
- Each puch of the jog dial button changes with tab I'm on, and then you can rotate the jog dial to select the Application, push the jog dial button again and that application is running- true one-handed functionality.
- I also like the fact that I have an available RAM and battery life meter on the top of my launcher.

The only caveat is that when I first installed it, it gave me a fatal error message- something about Memorymgr chunk...
It did this twice and has been rock solid since.

As a long-time Launcher III user, I immediately tried Launcher X since I had a cheap upgrade ($10) available. I can't put it into words, but it just seemed like "too much", for me anyway. Tried a few others, and settled -- with a BIG ole grin-- on ZLauncher. The interface is smooth and intuitive, yet there are pleasant surprises galore. Among them, a really fantastic File Manager, so good that I dumped my prior one (FileMan). $12 and worth every penny and then some. Give it a test whirl, since there's a fully functional trial available-- I think for 30 days-- I fell so immediately in love that I registered it within 24 hours (super high praise). :D
Have fun.
