I put my clie onto my charger then plugged it in. Next morning it was at 0% and I was just barely able to put it in my other charger. The thing is, I know that its the new charger that I bought that is doing this. And there's no possibility of returning it.

:(
Whats weird is that when I woke up today, my clie wasn't fully charged. It was sittting around 80% after charging for 9 hours! So I went to BB and exchanged it. Weird huh.
that is weird,
never happened to me yet.
hope it wont.

It sat in the charger all night and I synced about four times this morning before going to work... then I got to work and on 30% power was showing... in a panic I used the external battery charger from my now returned NX and it worked... in less than an hour ... full charge that took... cool... scarry...

All these weird issues and no explanations. I'm going to try other things with my charger, see what happens.
What's the charging voltage of your charger?

Uhm, beyond knowing that its a number your guess is as good as mine. When I bought it, it said any t-series connector clie and listed both my NR70 and SJ30 as useable. Wouldn't it take a negative voltage to drain a battery?
I think your Clie requires 5.2 VDC charging voltage. If you have faulty charger and it only puts out less than 3.7 VDC, it will drain your battery instead of charging, I think. According to the spec, 3.64 VDC is the minimum voltage for the Clie to work (0%) and at 3.53 VDC it will shut itself off to save the RAM from being wiped out.
My Clie requires 5.7 VDC. I bought one of those 2-in-1 HotSync travel chargers that you can use your PC USB to charge. Well my PC USB only puts out 5.0 VDC. When I let it to charge all night, the next morning it only showed 80%. The Sony charger does give 5.7VDC. I ended up just using the 2-in-1 charger for HotSync. If you check the Sony version, it also does not use USB for charging. My guess is because the USB charging voltage is too low.

I bought one of those 2-in-1 charge/hotsync cables on Ebay @ Christmas. Since then, I've used it as my ONLY charger. I haven't had ANY trouble (the Sony cradle sits on my desk waiting to be used for charging--but never does get used).

If only it were as simple as plugging in the power wrong... Oh well, I probably just had the luck of buying a faulty charger. At least it still hotsyncs ok.
