I'm considering upgrading soon and I've been looking at the range (at least those available in the UK) and so far the Sony Ericsson S700i seems to be the best quality pictures as well as being a good phone.
Anyone with any of the megapixel phones out there with a view to share?
the s700 (or s710a) is the best so far at 1.3 megapixels, and it has a flash as well.
I've heard there are higher mp phones that cost a fortune, but haven't seen any. Can't wait for my s710a to be available! It will be my ad-hoc on-the-go camera, replacing my NR70V's PcmOS. I figure that will be good enough for quick candid pics of the baby, with my 8mp cybershot for the good ones.

I'm using the Samsung E700 (E715 in the USA) ... the camera is not MP (VGA CMOS) but the quality must be seen to be believed ... if you can then try looking at the pics from it (I'll try and put up some) ... It also has a 4X zoom and light control (3 steps darked and 3 steps brighter) ... something that I dont think other phones have ( though I'm not 100% sure) ...

I have the Samsung D500. 1.3mp camera phone, with flash. I've seen the Sony Ericsson and I'd say they're on a level. Both have bluetooth, one has rotating section (SE) and the Samsung has sliding section to reveal the keypad. The D500 is smaller and lighter. The SE S700 has wow factor. The Siemens S65 is also nice, but no flash.
The Samsung has 96MB of inbuilt memory, the S700 takes memory sticks.

i would consider the NOKIA 6670. the form factor is akin to the NOKIA 7610, but without the odd keypad design.
1.3 MP camera with video record capability and the Symbian OS is great. for times when carrying both your PDA and phone isn't ideal, the 6670 has enough near-PDA functionality to bridge that gap.
while i don't have mine yet, the NOKIA 6670 is an excellent handset! the screen is big, bright and beautiful. the weight is nice and the phone feels solid (not unbalanced and hollow feeling like some ends of the 6600 or 6620). and with the customization features, and the connectivity, it'll be like a kid brother (or sister) to your PDA.

As I understand it, the S710 is just the US version of the S700i - and I sorely wish the European market had it, 'cos it's black! Oh well...
I get my S700i tomorrow in theory - any tips on integrating it with Clie or Mac OS X?
(I have a few leads from other fora but I always heed the voice of experience!)
It is a little different....
710: EDGE, no radio
700: no EDGE, radio
and the colors.

Good point - but EDGE isn't really active in the UK. I got the S700i finally... but much as it's cool, I wish it was black!
