Is there anyway to rename the voice recorder files?
Will the player even recognize them if I change the names?
I would like a slightly better description than "030316009"
I mean, what is that a "Stardate"?

Go to the file manager, then go to /PALM/PROGRAMS/MSSOUND and rename the files... simple as that... I do it all the time

just click the little graphic next to the filename in voice recorder and give it a new name at the top.

Um, actually it's even simpler than that. You can do it in Voice Recorder itself. Click on the little speech bubble with the three dots in it, (the little icon that appears to the left of the stardate-style number name), and it pops up an information sheet where you can change the title very easily.
