I tried saving my mp3 files onto my memory stick using MS IMPORT just like I did with Palm OS 4, but for some reason the TG50 won't let me play my mp3's this way. I can see the titles on all the songs in the audio player program that are on the memory stick, but they have a little red "X" next to them. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

I'm not sure if they're copy protected. I don't think they would be b/c I was able to use them on my NR60 and N760 and I burned the songs straight off my CD. I'm just using a regular memory stick, not magicgate.

hmmm, may just be a problem that needs to be worked over by sony, I don't know what else to tell you, since you were able to play the same songs on your other clies>>

Try transfering this way (cut from sony.hk)

To transferring MP3-format audio files to CLIE,

1. On Computer, double-click My Computer icon.
2. Select and double-click the Removable Disk icon.
3. Double-click PALM, PROGRAMS and then MSAUDIO folder. If these folders do not exist, create them manually in the Memory Stick media using Windows Explorer.
4. Drag the MP3-format audio files to the MSAUDIO folder.

I finally figured it out. The reason I couldn't put the mp3s into the Clie is b/c my mp3 files were burned using VBR. So now I have to go back, junk my current mp3's and burn everything again NOT using VBR when I burn them.

VBR=Variable Bit Rate.

However, I'd have to say I've had no problem with VBR encoded mp3. I used cdex to encode, and all my songs are ripped at either 128 or 196. both play fine.
