Well, I was poking around CNET's coverage of CES2005, and I came across this device:

It seems like it'll revolutionize handhelds. Not a lot of information is already available for it. But from the video, the broadband feature will be something to see. I also love the slide down keyboard style.

How about this? Looks slightly similar with the added WiFi and 1.3 megapixel camera with zoom capability and flash:

Yeah, I saw that one also. I'm just kind of skeptical into jumping into an unknown brand like BenQ. Here is the CNET info on it:

The price is quite high as well.

I just hope palm comes up with another version of the Treo series that can really compete with the up coming Pocket PCs. Looks like my next PDA would be a smart phone, whether palm or PPC, as of now, I have not decided yet. I still don't like the Treo 650, I think Palm jump the gun in releasing a product that is half baked. And I hate migrating to PPC. If I can stay with the Palm platform, that would be nice. But definitely not the Treo 650.

Honestly, Palm is really really getting served. This might just be the final cut in the any change of Palm market. I've been looking at the new handhelds introduced in CES2005, and NONE are running Palm OS. I mean, this is getting ridiculous. I'm seriously getting frustrated at the lack of attention they're giving the market. Seems like they're only focus is their small little line, which in my opinion is crap. All the Tungstens, Treos, and whatever combined can't amount to a single device that SONY has made. I am, unfortunately, thinking of crossing over when purchasing my next PDA (which won't be for a while).

Waiting for this to be available in the US. Smaller than an ipod!

As of now I still am satisfied with my TH55/E1 and UX50. I'll get rid of my UX50 first and will keep my TH. Luckily I bought a 2 year exchange warranty. So all I have to do is wait a little bit more and I can exchange it for something new. I've been using my TH all the time, so my UX just sits on my table as paper weight. That is why I was hoping Palm would release something innovative, just for once, I hope. I really feel bad now that Sony pulled out of the market. That means Palm will take their time, even longer, to release something that could match our TH or UX.

That I-Mate Jam looks sleek too! But if I am to switch to PPC I'll have to wait for PPC Mobile 2005 edition, I heard they are going to update the software again.

Wow really? I can't wait to see what PPC Mobile 2005 will have. See, they are constantly updating their OS and keeping it fresh. Palm needs a big slappin! The I-Mate seems very functional, but too ugly. A must for any handheld I get from now on is a keyboard. Without it, I won't even consider it. Ergonomically, no PDA will come close to the UX. However, it's features are becoming very outdated.

I was considering a TH55. How does the grafitti work on it? Do you have the European version? I heard the Euro version has BT and Wi-Fi built in. While the American version only has Wi-Fi. What the heck are they trying to prove with that?

It looks incredible and is available now through Expansys - US. The problem for me is that it is only tri-band (900, 1800, 1900). Most of the new equipmenr in the US is 850. This is certainly true of Cingular/AT&T in Calfornia. It would work for TMobile here though because they are buying the old Cingular 900 network.

When they come out with a version that supports 850, I will get one immediately.

Same here. But here is the link where I read it from:

I don't use the grafitti much. But I believe it has Grafitti 1 and 2 plus Decuma. Similar to the UX. I have the KB100 keyboard attachment. I use the virtual keyboard on the go. Yes I have the European version, a better option if you have a lot of BT peripherals compared to the US version. I don't use my UX much now that I fell in love with the bigger screen and better battery management of the TH.

Here is another. It looks like this will topple the UX series too if they would include a built in WiFi.
