Have the SJ30. Looked at SJ33, pretty nice. Is it really worth upgrading for MP3 player and faster machine? Looks like battery life is better. Any opions or advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Speed boost depends on your usage, for regular apps it won't make a significant difference. If you do more complicated stuff (spreadsheets, etc.) then it will be faster of course. Battery life is also improved, although the SJ30 battery life is already good.

MS write speed is better (especially writing.) But that only seems significant if you're constantly writing big files (such as mp3's.)

IMO, the main upgrade is the mp3 ability, is that important to you? If not, then it may be questionable. It's a very nice mp3 player, and the extended battery really helps in this case.

I switched from an N760 which I believe uses the same processor as the SJ30 & I notice the difference frequently. Everything runs noticeably faster, even ordinary applications & especially some games like Bejewled & Bounce. The memory stick speed really impressed me as I keep tons of files on the MS & it's a lot faster than my 760 was. I think the screen is different too isn't it ? Did the SJ30's use the transflective screens ?

If you rely on audible alarms, the SJ33 is a huge improvement over the SJ30.... still don't like that flip cover though.

Really ? I think it's great, no need for an inconvenient case & it's hard so it protects the screen better than their previous flip covers. You can even learn how to grab it without getting it all greasy! :)
