for your information, this is not a warez site... and you just cannot go registering and asking for serial numbers

Go HERE (http://www.fbi.gov/cyberinvest/websnare.htm) for Warez information.
Just getting any old serial number probably won't work anyway. Most Palm applications are registered by using a unique serial number that is based on your HotSync name. So a serial number from someone else's palm will not work on yours unless you happen to have the same Hotsync name. Some, like MMPlayer, even go a step further by combining the PDA brand/model with the Hotsync name. When I recently migrated from a Sony to a T3, my MMPlayer reg code did not work. MMPlayer provides a code that apparently is unique to your brand/model PDA and Hotsync name combination. You then take that code to their online registration key generator and a registration key is emailed to you promptly. But when I entered the T3 code into the online reg key page, it displayed a message that a different device was being used and requested that I send an email to resolve the issue. It wasn't a painful process but it took a couple days since it was over the New Year weekend.

Most of the software that I've purchased indeed are "linked" to the specific HotSync ID that I use. I've also had one program, (a medical reference text,) that actually used the Device ID for it's registration. I was initially a little annoyed that I had to get a new S/N every time I changed PDA's, but I suppose it makes sense. The program was about $80, so I can just see a some med student purchasing one copy and then making copies for ten of their friends.
